I show that Texas is currently at 8.2% unemployment and that the national average is 9.2%, any job growth is good right? Aren't you of the opinion that having a low-paying job is better than none, would you rather they were relying on the state for income?

I turn 18 next month, and I have never been able to get a single job in my life (and I have a spotless record, BTW). I would sure rather have a minimum wage food service job in Texas than the nothing I'm getting here in MO.

Is MO really that bad? It's not great or horrible here in KS, I'm sure I could get some part time minimum wage jobs (maybe a boost with some of the experience I have from previous jobs), but yeah. I just spent July searching around for jobs hardcore and it was pretty tough. Your best bet for an initial job is networking, getting in some place where maybe you've got friends or people you know working that could help you get in. It's worked 4 times for me... only way I've really landed jobs so far, lol.

I just hope if I get back to school anytime and can possibly get a BA or something that it's worth it in the end.

That is pretty bad. I guess it's still really bad in general (lots of people my age mid 20's to 30's are taking up part time minimum wage jobs and all), but yeah back in 2003-2006 when I was 17 it definitely wasn't t his bad at all when I got my first job. Well good luck man, I just luckily landed a part time job myself and am hoping to find another to get full time hours or hopefully find some full time position soon, but it's been tough.

My girlfriend was determined to perform a shoryuken earlier tonight and smashed my ceiling light. It shattered everywhere and a bunch of glass got in my eyes (I was right below it). It was painful but it was also pretty damn funny. I really wish I had it on video. I think I'm going to have to go to an Optometrist tomorrow.

Definitely go. You don't want to leave that shit in your eyes. And I'm sure some tiny fragments are still there.

That is pretty funny though.

If I were brunoafh, I'd be way too upset to find anything funny.

Well he thought it was funny and it happened to him. What else can I say?

Picture a girl doing a shoryuken in the house and shattering a light fixture. That alone, ignoring the whole glass in the eyes thing, is funny.

Yeah I just thought it was hilarious. I wanted to be mad at first, but then I thought of the ridiculousness of the situation and just started laughing my ass off. I've had my eyes scratched my glass before so I know it's not a huge deal (it isn't permanently damaging, unless you have some really bad scratches).
