sega cd and s-video

so im thinking about buying a modded sega genesis that outputs s-video but i want to know can the sega cd output s-video unmodified?

The Genesis will handle the video output, so you'll still get your s-video picture out of it even with Sega CD games.

The story changes if you get a 32x, as the 32x handles all video output when its connected.

So if you're sticking with just Genesis and CD, you'll be fine with the Gen's s-video mod.
