bead sprites

Post by dlmvii »

I know Satoshi Matrix has a for sale thread on these (http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... =2&t=29118, but I started taking up the hobby as something to idly do while I'm Netflixing or something like that (or I paint miniatures which is fun too :) )

I got interested in it from some posts at reddit - they even have a subreddit for it which has some info - http://www.reddit.com/r/beadsprites/

I only started a few days ago, but here's a few I did that I thought turned out OK.

Picture didn't turn out great, but I think you can tell who they are. Cyan isn't done yet, he's missing a dark green that I don't have the right shade of.

I think you have to mix the two brands to get the widest variety of colors, which is why sonic's are a little too high contrast. I keep meaning to do some of these.

Yeah, all I have are perler beads right now. I didn't want to go too crazy with colors initially, since I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it. I think I'll pick up a few of the hama beads though, now that I've done a few of them. There's another company called nabbi that makes a light gray which is supposed to be awesome too.
