Anyone remember right after that NES lot with stadium events sold everyone was listing their NES systems for thousands because they didn't get it was one game that made the difference?

A Nes console and 5 games sold for 13k a while ago. One of those games was a cib stadium events, the only one known in existence at the time. Bonus trivia: A few weeks later someone sees that in the news(it was on yahoos homepage), and finds that game sealed in their basement, it sold for 41k.

Just wanted to clarify a couple things from your post. There have been a least 4 known CIB Stadium Events in the hands of nintendoage members (nage members: Braveheart69, D_N_G, DreamTR, NationalGameDepot) for several years now and one sealed one (nage member:Bronty - paid approx $3000 many years ago) on top of that. I'm a little hazy, but I think another additional one may have been sold from a nintendoage member privately to an un-named non-member also. The $13k Ebay one definitely wasnt the only one known at the time. Nintendoage members even invited the seller to discuss her finding the game and helped her list it better (more pics and info). I think the sellers name was something silly like lace_thong.

The sealed one for $41k wasnt paid for through Ebay. Its generally excepted that it was sold privately after the highest bidder didnt pay, but the amount is unknown. Its speculation, but it pretty safe to say it sold for more than $13k and less than $41K.

i saw that episode wednesday night since i'm an avid watcher of the show and, yes, Mark is a tool, but he's a wealthy tool. But i had to laugh when he unpacked the NES in the locker he won and said it was "gold". I laughed as i watched him get it appraised at the game store for $10. that was some funny stuff

I got my stuff mixed up, I meant to say that the sealed one was the only one. But are those others that you mentioned the NTSC version? If so could you post more info?

Yes all the ones I mentioned are NTSC. I've got to run right now, but I can definitely post the info later if you want. Just serach for Bronty on Nintendoage.com if your interested in the sealed one. He is something like 3 games shy of having a complete sealed NTSC NES set both licensed and unlicensed. Guy is insane!

DreamTR and nationalgamesdepot are also both pretty well known members on digitalpress too so it should be easy to find info on both of their collections in the meantime.

i'm trying to get the term "stadium event" trademarked in the retro gaming community.

Stadium Event (noun) - Occurs when a relatively common piece of retro gaming hardware or software is listed with a ridiculously hyper-inflated price, thanks in part to media sensationalism and general consumer ignorance surrounding an infamous ebay auction in which a boxed copy of Stadium Events was unwittingly bundled with an NES.

examples of Stadium Events can be found here, here and here.

Yea I checked one of the guys and it says he has a complete set, I tried to find posts by them with pics of the box etc, but couldn't find anything. I looked for more info but there are supposedly 2 sealed.

Edit: I don't need any info now, I checked some forum posts and Bronty had The game up on ebay for a ridiculous BIN, after that other one sold. I think it is still listed on ebay, for 50k. That's why people think that their old nes is worth ridiculous amounts of money
