PDF and word doc issues
My parents run a catering business. They use Caterease to handle their employee scheduling, orders, etc. When saving an employee schedule, Caterease automatically saves it as a PDF file. They want to put the information on the website by copy and pasting the text, which is an issue with this PDF file. So what they tried doing was exporting it as a word document, opening it with Open Office, and copying it from there. Problem is, when they export the file from Adobe, all the text is separated in individual text boxes, which make it very difficult to copy the information accurately. If anybody has any advice regarding this, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Try a different PDF program... Maybe Foxit?

The way PDFs handle text makes it extremely difficult to copy-paste text and keep any sort of formatting or even keep the text in the same order! If the schedule they want to put on the website is for employees, I'd suggest just uploading the PDF and putting a link on the website for the employees to download the PDF. I don't think they'll get around the funky copy-paste problems with any particular PDF program.
