Friends with Benefits. Pretty fun.

Its a shame Mila Kunis had a stunt butt (I like that term), cause I'd really like to see the real thing.

True Grit Coen Bros Edition
Should have called this one the mumbles episode, the way Jeff Bridges growls his lines. A darker version, not bad but I prefer John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn. The script followed the original, it actually reminded me of stuff lost in the remake:

The greatness of this movie is the rapid fire spoken dialog.

I am going to have to watch the original again
The cornbread was there, but no mention of "corn dodgers." Glenn Campbell question of why eyes get hurt eating the chicken dumplings. "Mind your Spurs at the table." The cat named General Sterling Price, how John Wayne mentions cats are not owned. Lawer Dagoot, Rooster's reaction "You Shrunk". Of course, the great classic banter with the horse trader, the remake is good, but the charm of the original dialog is a true classic.

Ironclad

Loved every minute of it!... A medieval movie about a time when men were still men. Don't watch this when you want to see a historically correct movie. Do watch this if you want to be entertained with bloody battles and stuff. Death before surrender!...

My Soul To Take 4/10

Wow this movie had problems. The pacing was awful. Its honestly too long. The opening is just stupid. The kills are all uninspired. A big chunk of the cast is just plain unlikeable.

I'll give it some points for trying to be original, but the execution is just crap.

Wes Craven hasn't been relevant for a while.

Scream 4 was ok, but that is about it.

The hills have eyes remake was way better than this, and he was only a producer on that.

KICK ASS

Watched this again last night. Not sure if I've posted this before, but I think what really makes Hit Girl work is the fact that she doesn't really beat anyone up. She obviously doesn't have the strength to KO a grown man, and I'm glad the movie doesn't go that route. Rather, she's a master of weapons and an efficient (to say the least) killer. Yeah the ending fight is a little goofy, but it keeps in tune with the first and second acts and it doesn't bother me.

Watched SALT last night. I liked it, pretty much was what I expected, an action-thirller with decent performances from Liev Schreiber and Angelina Jolie. It was non-stop action and some plot holes, as per most action movies, but easy to overlook.

That would be damn cool.
So you basically you want a live-action movie of Batman: The Animated Series. That would be damn cool.
No... a Batman movie set in Depression-era Gotham City, akin to early Batman stories. Batman TAS is set more or less in modern-day Gotham City, albeit with an Interbellum aesthetic.

Well who knows, WB wants to do a Batman reboot after TDKR (I guess so they can do a Marvel Movieverse kinda thing) so really anything's on the cards as to where they take it.

We are talking the original Batman: TAS, right? The one that aired on FOX. When WB took over the cartoon, the art direction changed a bit.

Batman TAS is VERY Golden-Age influenced. The influences in the art is very apparant. The buildings and cars in the cartoon are mostly from that era. The organized crime that he fights (when not fighting super-villains) is definetly fashioned after the depression-era mobsters. And he fights pretty much the classic line-up of villains.

It's almost like a mixture of the Golden Age and the modern. Because his costume, computer, and gadgets are all definetly modern.
