EDIt: I swear, I have been at this for well over an hour, and I have yet to successfully breed a female Blue Chocobo. I don't think I have even been able to breed a female Chocobo yet! But, I have to keep trying, or else all this time and Gil will be wasted!
Knights of the Round depends on you! Getting a gold chocobo took me forever. Have you been taking them to the chocobo races and all that? Don't you have to mate a green with a blue to get a wonderful chocobo, and mate that wonderful chocobo with a black chocobo for a gold chocobo?

I have good news and bad news! The good news is that I finally finished Chocobo breeding, and I got the KotR materia! The bad news is that I realized my version of the game has a bug that does not allow you to get limit breaks higher than level 1. I have level-65 characters and am at the end of the 3rd disc, and I am still stuck on the limit breaks I started out with. :(

WTF, what version are you playing? PC or something? Sorry if that was said earlier, lol...

KoTR is fun but game breaking really.

That is weird. When I played I didn't realize that you could level up the limit breaks until late into disc 2 lol. Are you gonna fight Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon? I didn't do many side quests when I played, I should go back and do them. Also, Do you have the W-item materia? Because there is an item duplication thing you can do with it. I had 99 phoenix downs and hi potions when I was training to beat Ruby Weapon.

You got it man, and trust me, I feel your pain.

My wife started playing Chrono Trigger a while back, and she's on a break from the game because she's stuck on the Golem Twins. She intends to finish it, but it really pisses her off.

There's an armor set you can get to cut the damage from their electrical attacks (you may already have it), and its also possible to power level and beat them out of sheer will, but its still a tough fight.

The old pros at the game are rather annoying about it too, as they brush it off like its nothing at all, but they've just forgotten what its like to approach it fresh.

On the plus side, there's another Golem fight later that's so easy it makes you feel really good.

Good luck and keep at it. You're right around the corner from a story event that, unless you've already been spoiled, I guarantee will surprise the hell out of you.

Actually, it's the PSN version, making it all the more baffling. :? What happened is that I noticed while level-grinding that on the Battle Results screen, it does say that I get a new Limit Break after meeting certain criteria, but it never shows up in the battle menu, and the Status page still lists all my characters as having Level-1 Limit Breaks. The sad part is that I collected most of the items for the characters to learn their ultimate Limit Breaks before I realized this. :(

I don't think I'll try and beat them, considering you pretty much have to be at level 99 and have every materia in the game mastered before you even consider fighting them. I will try and beat Ultima Weapon, though. Also, I have done essentially all of the side quests except for the Battle Arena, Ancient Forest [Which I plan to get to today before I beat Ultima Weapon], and Turtle's Paradise.

Here are my stats right now:
Cloud Lv. 67 w/KotR+Quadra Magic, Phoenix, etc.
Cid Lv.62 w/4x Hit, Bahamut ZERO, Long Range, etc.
Yuffie Lv.66 w/Conformer Weapon, a whole bunch of miscellaneous materia, etc.

thanks man. Yeah this is battle is brutal. I didn't beat it last night. My biggest problem is that I'm low on MP for both Crono and Ayla, and I don't have any Ether or anything to bring it up. Sadly, I think I'm going to have to backtrack to grind a bit which sucks because that elevator ride was so annoying.

Put some more hours into Chrono Cross. Beat up some Dwarfs that were beating up some Fairies. Have it saved part way into another dungeon. Its kind of like Chrono Trigger in the sense that you never need to grind, which is nice.
