Ha, they put it right next to Mortal Kombat. I was hoping they would get SF2. There's a SF2 machine at Kung Fu Saloon, but the joysticks are completely crapped out, rendering it too frustrating to play.

I'm looking forward to my next visit to the arcade...

Played it last week or so. It's not in the best condition. The screen's kinda blurry.

:/

Yeah I don't get it man. There are tons of places to get cabs in decent condition. They seem to get the worst possible candidates for their arcade. I don't know where they're sourcing these things. That is unless it comes to high profile things like Tron, or those god damned DDR machines. For those they seem to get quality items. And it doesn't take much work to swap out buttons/joysticks. That's the easiest thing to do when debuting a new cab.

Yeah, I end up scratching my head a lot when I go there. The Virtual On cab has been in serious need of attention since the day it hit the floor. The P1 screen on Time Crisis 3 doesn't register shots on the lower half of the screen... been like that since day one. The button config on KOF 11 is totally shuffled and we have complained about it on several occasions (simple quick disconnects swap). But then you'll have a game like TMNT where the sound didn't work for the first week it was out on the floor and they had it repaired ASAP.

I know pinball is their main draw, but why even bother putting the cabs out if you can't keep them up and running. At first I was willing to give them a pass because they were a new venue. But some of this is shit that has been a problem since opening.

LOL, and you're right about DDR. I haven't see anyone use that damned thing since they hooked it up.

i have to agree the state of the machines leave alot to be desired. I as well have told them many many times about the repairs. NOTHING!!! I hear it's on the list to do but this was looong ago. VO is fucked, we will not play it they most likely not get fixed cause it gets no play. No incentive to fix it. BLEH I rather go to UFO and play the limited selection but at least they work. It looks like the obvious, they care more about the pins than the cabs. I am so regretting getting my platinum membership. i have to tell myself to get my 2for1 tokens every month, they have had only only one party when they stated they were going to have them semi frequently and i have heard nothing about the raffle tickets we are supposed to get. really bummed at the sitch as i had hopes this would be a decent place to hang. Lo it is not to be.

That reminds me. One of the owners knows that we are waiting for repairs to set up a tournament. Even that doesn't seem to be enough incentive to fix it. This is something we discussed with him 3 or 4 months ago.

Rumors implying that Guardian Heroes HD has been delayed until late this year are flying. I'm dropping the idea of a GH HD meet up until more news comes out.

Streets of Rage Remake meet up is back on. No date yet, taking suggestions. This will be a celebration of the SOR Remake fan made game that was released earlier this year. We will have multiple versions of Streets of Rage (and hopefully other beat em' ups) ready to play on actual hardware. I also plan to have the Remake up and running on a good old fashioned CRT.

Go here for more information on the Streets of Rage Remake fan made game.

Spread the word!

How does the last weekend in September sound for the SoRR meet? I'm thinking Sunday @ Game Over on Lamar.
