Thanks for the s-video cable! (With pics!)

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

as far as i know its an official nintendo product. It came out later when the snes was going towards the end of its life span. They made the snes cheaper and smaller and packed it in with a bundle game of donkeykong or yoshi island...not sure which one though.

You've got to be really careful about s-video cables for Nintendo systems. Many 3rd party s-video cables do not offer true s-video. Instead they just take the composite and pass it over the s-video lines. This can often look even worse than composite depending on the TV used. The ones at racketboy seem good judging by the pictures posted in this thread, looks like s-video to me. I have 2 or 3 official Nintendo s-video cables so I am set there (and no, I will not sell them!)

Bottom line: Buyer beware on s-video cables for Nintendo systems.

^I use the racketboy cable as well and the quality is definitely great.

Big improvement on the N64 as well.

Yeah, I got a third party s-vid/composite AV cables that works for SNES/N64?GCN, PS1/2, and Xbox. I'm gonna have to check the pins and see if it's real S-vid or not cause the picture quality didn't look that great.

I bought s-vid cables from the Racket store a few years back, I use them on my SNES in another location. Looks great. Now you've got me thinking about the multi-console cables I have...
