Always loved that quote.
I've way grown out of my rave days, but they were a blast back when I was 18-20(ish). If there was a First Friday in Raleigh, I would be there. Simpler times (and much better music, if I may add).
WOW !
u can get free water? i never knew that we always paid for beverages
the only free water we got is when they force to open a bottle even if we didnt ask for it or a really cheap (sometimes i wonder if it meets health requirements) place.
why would they give u free water? even tap water is paid for
in all honesty business owners need to sell to live, u might be 1 customer but imagine 1000 customers ordeing just tap water. thats what? $2000 in sales?
also dont forget u must buy water because of the place u r in, u must pay up for having a seat and enjoying the place they pay taxes on.
then again, since i understand that customers would feel insulted i would make a policy that tap water should be free for every one just not to loose customers which is worse than missing a sale on bottled water.
I never understood this policy with beverages, why must it be so expensive? why cant they add a follar or two on the burger and the fries...i would pay same total any way. i came to eat not to drink.
another thing i never understood, is down here its actually more expensive to order the burger and fries instead of the combo...how come you are selling me more for less?

i guess thats why we have no free water at any place
whats raves?
Raves are dances/social events where they play music (usually a DJ, sometimes live performances) with bright flashy lights. Oh yeah, and there are a lot of glowsticks and drugs.

Because your perception that it's a bargain (and only x much more than the cost of the burger!) makes you more likely to pay for fries, even if you might otherwise not have wanted any. They make more money selling you fries for a few cents as part of a combo than they make selling you ZERO fries at a higher price.
