Racketboy Store Question: Saturn Ram Cart

Post by scarper »

This item:
http://www.racketboy.com/store/sega-sat ... -cart.html

Will it also boot imports that have a different region code?

Well, first off it is out of stock. Second, That picture might be the wrong stock image. Finally, no.
This cartridge will allow you to play many of the best Saturn games that are otherwise unplayble without the extra Video RAM... it is ONLY for video RAM required for those amazing imports that require it.

Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

That one is the proper image, but it's just for video RAM and nothing else. I decided to only keep the Action Replay in stock as most people wanted that.

Really? Hm, well, it was a long time ago so my memory might just be playing tricks on me, but I swore I saw that model in the store (it had a Pocket Fighter sticker which attracted my eye) and it was actually a Memory Cart, not a RAM cart.

Although, zooming in on the RB store, I see a switch in the middle of the cart which begs the question... wha??

The switch toggles between 1MB and 4MB mode (SNK was usually 1MB while Capcom was typically 4MB)

I use one of these on a regular basis and can verify it works fantastic for playing any region with any memory requirements
