Dishwasher 1 - I'm at the last boss but it's incredibly cheap and I'm on f'ing normal difficulty.
Red Dead Revolver - I'm at chapter 13 and the game had a massive difficulty spike.
Super Mario Land - I keep dying at chapter 3-1 and chapter 3-2, those spiders and those enemies that sprint are horrible.
F.E.A.R. 3 - I'm about to finish the game, it's been an amazing experience to be honest, I can't express how saddened I am with the game's sales. I highly recommend it to F.E.A.R. or FPS fans.

Re: What are you playing?
I got the magic powder to get the 1/2 magic upgrade, but you need magic power to use it. I have 3 out of 4 bottles, and I had no idea about magic potion lol. Kinda sad but this is my first Zelda game I've ever actually tried to beat.CFFJR wrote:Have you found the magic meter upgrade yet? That'll make a big difference, and you're definitely gonna need it for later battles anyway.SwooshBear wrote:Very pissed at Link to the past at the moment. Died on the boss in the ice dungeon. You need to use the fire rod and a bunch of magic during the fight. I ran out of magic power and couldnt damage the boss frozen in ice. So I ended up saving and quitting. When I resumed, I still had no magic power and I played for a good 30 minutes of killing enemies and nobody dropped any magic power in the green bottles. I can't go back to the ice dungeon without magic power, and I can't get any magic green bottles. I guess I'll try again later. I'm so close to finishing it.
Also, you don't have any spare bottles to put some Magic potion or Cure all potion in? If not, find more bottles. Use a guide if you need to just to locate them, but it helps a lot to have all 4 for your first time through the game.

So I'm still playing Deadly Premonition, and I'm loving every minute of it. I've found most of the trading cards and completed a good chunk of the side missions. The plot is unique, and the town of Greenvale is quite quirky. While I suppose some folks might criticize the game for interspersing the horror sequences with so much stuff around town, I feel it actually does an excellent job of making them seem more terrifying. Because it's not easy to go from such a lackadaisical task as fishing to suddenly beating down bent-over zombie shadows armed with pickaxes and hungry for my soul.

Ha ha, I see. Nothing sad about that at all. You picked the best in the series to start with.SwooshBear wrote: I got the magic powder to get the 1/2 magic upgrade, but you need magic power to use it. Anyway, you're not screwed, I promise. Have you been to the witch's hut, in the northeast part of the light world? She sells all of the potions, the red health potion, the green magic potion, and the blue cure all (sorry if you know this, just trying to cover all the bases). All you need is the bottles to store it in, and magic potion goes for cheap, 60 rupees.
Exit the Ice Palace, and use the magic mirror right outside the door and return to the light world. Then just make your way to the witch's hut, it won't take long, and stock up on potions. Then you can go back and use your mirror portal to return to the Ice Palace.
Two more questions, which are unrelated really: Do you have the flute (and with that, the bird)? And did you get the ice rod?

My classic Final Fantasy onslaught continues, after just beating FFIV (PSP) and FFII (PSP), I've started up FFV Advance again ... third time I'll be playing this one actually, but I've never finished it. That is my mission! I thought I'd be burned out for the moment but I already sunk in several hours today and I'm loving it this time around. I think the SNES sound is a tad bit better obviously, but still really impressed with how well it translated into the GBA version.
Think I'll finish up Sonic Advance this week too. Yeah I save stated so I could come back to it, but oh well.
, it seems really awesome as some of you were saying and I'm sure it'll be a quick one.

Re: What are you playing?
Okay so I went to the witch's hut and got a green potion as well as the magic powder. I got the 1/2 magic upgrade and then I went back and defeated the ice palace. Yeah I got the flute and the ice rod. I wish the flute bird would work in the dark world though. I think I almost got every item as well. I'm only missing the two in between the bottles and the magic cape (if looking at the pause menu). I'm really enjoying it so far. I really like the 2D Zelda games.CFFJR wrote:Ha ha, I see. Re: What are you playing?
Hey, so you beat it! Right on!
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it man. Link to the Past is easily my favorite Zelda. I've beaten it more times than I can count dating back to when it was a brand new game.
Say, you're playing the snes version right? They made a significant change in the Ice Palace when they ported it to gba.
As for the two items you're missing, you'll get one of them in the next dungeon. The other one is out in the world somewhere.

Re: What are you playing?
I couldn't play the GBA version because of the "Hunh, Hiyah's" and such instead of the sword swooshing noises.
Yes, I am that picky about my Link to the Past.
But yeah, one of those games like Super Metroid, where I could probably draw the entire overworld and dungeon maps off the top of my head. It really has been quite awhile since I last played it though, maybe even two years... damn! I'm feeling a replay sometime this year since I hit up all the great handheld Zelda's, so I'm craving it a good bit since it's just perfection. Heh.

Ha ha, I understand about the voice. It works for the 3d zeldas, but leave it out of the classics please.Xeogred wrote:I couldn't play the GBA version because of the "Hunh, Hiyah's" and such instead of the sword swooshing noises.

Plus, hearing the voice drowned out the deep, meaty slash sound of the upgraded swords, and that just sucked.
Funny you say it though, I'm feeling a replay coming on too. But hey, once you know it so well, a replay hardly takes long right?
