Fallout 3 GOTY Random Pauses

I have beat the normal version of Fallout 3 a couple years ago and i don't remember this problem. Every so often it pauses briefly. An example being.. your going through the list of perks normally you'd press down and it will go to the next perk but randomly it will pause and wait a few seconds ...... THEN show the next perk. Happens all over the game (during conversations and just walking around) as well. Anyone know if this is normal? lol its only mildly annoying but i have no other games atm to test the 360 with.

Brand new (2 day old) 4GB Slim Xbox
250 GB laptop drive hacked with HDDHackr
All DLC installed on HDD
Game installed on HDD
Playing on an SDTV through component

EDIT: Finally done everything i think i want to do in fallout.. No idea how they could make a game that would pause for 1 second SO many times in the 80 hours i put into it.... Maybe it really is my Xbox....

I just bought Perfect Dark XBLA and Vanquish. Vanquish seems fine but now Perfect dark is doing the same thing.. *sigh*.. way less then fallout and it's really only when you change weapons.. Maybe 1 in every 5 changes the game will lock up for a full 1 or 2 seconds.

To bad i bought it unopened but not from a store (free xbox with laptop = tons of cheap ones on CL type sites) so i cant exchange and find out for sure lol

Can anyone with perfect dark on the xbox play through the first level and change weapons way more then you normally would and see if theirs does anything strange? lol

Hmm. I'm not sure. It may just be doing certain things being too much for the game at that point. One of the things I have to point out is that with the engine the game runs on, items stored in boxes at your house or any other nonrespawning place, stuff in your inventory, and just general gametime start slowing the game down. IE, I had this problem with Oblivion (same engine), and after 100 hours and tuns of stuff stored in my house, I had to delete my save.

Maybe.. but i don't think the game is doing much while im deciding on perks and skill points. I just started so i don't have that much stuff at my house yet. i don't remember having that problem before. I had a ass ton of stuff in my lockers to hehe

I'm playing New Vegas on the 360 and I just made it to the Big Empty in the Old World Blues add-on. I've been having the exact same problem as you ever since.

I know, not the platform, or even the same game, but I'm sure they were both built with the same engine. Perhaps that has something to do with it?

Fallout 3 GOTY is one of the most unstable games I've ever played. It's just a mess all around. Your experience is nothing unique, the game just performs poorly. Same with most Bethesda games.

^Hopefully Skyrim will change that. It's because of the crappy Gamebryo engine. Skyrim has the new Creation engine, so hopefully we get the good end.

Oh, and just because I like to state my opinion, I hate Fallout. I'm not sure why.

Not really anything out of the ordinary. Usually, the bigger your save data gets, the more prone you are to glitches, minor freezes, and crashes.

I only have the standard edition, but people say the GOTY edition is worse, because all the dlc got crammed into the disc and people say they didn't do the best job. GOTY edition freezes more and gave people more crashes than the standard edition. This is why I skipped it and got the cheaper standard. I love Fallout, but there's nothing hiding the flaws of that engine.

Yea i heard it was pretty glitchy. But, i heard that about the normal version. I don't remember a single problem playing that one .. "shrugs"

Does it give you the option to save to the hard drive?
