Is the Lost Golem really that rare? There is a copy on Ebay for only 50 dollars. Border Down cost me 150 dollars.

They sold less than 500 copies of the game. So yes...Busomjack wrote:Is the Lost Golem really that rare? There is a copy on Ebay for only 50 dollars. Border Down cost me 150 dollars.
There's a difference between rarity, availability, and demand...
Another one is the boxed Eldorado Gate collection. Very rare...

Holy Christ! I hope it's still on Ebay when I get paid next week. I make 800 dollars twice a month so I'm risking my life to build this collection but my beloved Dreamcast is worth it.

Welcome to Racketboy! You are clearly in good hands here, as most of us very much appreciate your hobby. Some of us might be more into Genesis, SNES, NES, PC Engine, Neo Geo, Saturn, whatever... but, in the end, this is a retro gaming community that I'm sure you'll feel very welcome in. Some of us are teens, and some of us are in are 30s. I'm sure we have some in their 40s and up, but I really can't think of anyone off the top of my head. Some of us are married, some have kids, I think there's at least one lawyer here, some live in Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, Middle East, South Africa, North America, South America... all over! There are Christians here, Atheists, agnostics, and probably other things, too. You aren't even along in your gym habits. You might even find some cool stuff in the buy/sell/trade area. I've sold some cool Japanese Dreamcast stuff there before (including that Sonic Adventure 2 b-day set). Keep a look out there for stuff!Busomjack wrote:These are some great suggestions guys! I was at first expecting people to tell me how stupid I am for even bothering to collect Dreamcast games so it is nice that I am surrounded by people who can appreciate my hobby.
I think a lot of us feel very similarly. Some of us have actually sold our entire collections, just to get the bug again and recollect everything. For some here, it is really a part of our childhood; our own personal memories we want to preserve.I am the original owner of most of these games in my collection so I keep them for nostalgias sake. You may have heard me mention in my videos that I view the Dreamcast as the end of the arcade era in gaming before RPG like elements were incorporated in virtually every genre which thus awarded gamers for their sheer patience rather than skill.
Every one of those GD-Roms I own is like a piece of history. While everyone else moves on to their next-gen whatever I feel that I am preserving a piece of history that I hold dear.
A lot of us, I think, feel that the Dreamcast was the last console to really have really been made with gamers in mind, and not the sheep who just buy whatever is popular. Personally, the end of retro gaming was the Dreamcast. Even though the graphics are fairly modern, many of the games still have that old school feel.I fully embrace next-gen gaming of course but I nonetheless feel the Dreamcast has a charm that has been lost and thus I want to have everything positive that console had to offer.
We DEFINITELY appreciate your love for the DC. Do you have any other retro consoles?
In all honesty, for better or worse, you did seem like that at first. Don't worry, everyone is just jealous because you have Border Down.*1.

I got my copy of Radiant Silvergun for $5.

Re: Rate my Dreamcast collection.
Thank you so much! I no longer have to be reclusive about my hobby and passion for retro games.
I think gaming in general really peaked with the Dreamcast. That is not to say that it's all bad today but I think it hasn't gotten any better since.
As for other retro consoles I own...well, I do own a Sega Nomad, Sony Playstation 1, Sega Saturn, and Nitnendo 64 but my collection for all are all pretty meager. I do have a few gems for the PS1 like many Working Designs games(LOVE WORKING DESIGNS), and some rare shoot em ups but it pales in comparison to my Dreamcast collection.
I want to get that new Genesis RPG Pier Solar but I heard it's for the CD and I only have a Nomad. I want it so badly I'll buy a Sega CDX for it just as soon as I have the money.
I had a Sega-CD back in the day and I LOVED Lunar and Lunar 2:Eternal Blue and Pier Solar looks a lot like those games!
