Yeah, yeah. Another one of these threads. Sorry.
So I'm thinking about gettting a PSPgo. I'm to the point now where I'm trying to catch up on some games that I missed out on. More specifically: PS1 games.
I really like downloading titles but unfortunately I only have a 2 gig memory stick and, as much as I hate to admit it, the PSP 2000 isn't very easy to carry around.
The go interests me because from what I've read it has great battery life and is very easy to carry around. Also I read that you can connect a ps3 controller to it and use it as a "console" if you wanted.
Does anyone here own a PSPgo? If so can you tell me what you think of the system? I'm also wanting to know more about how comfortable it is to hold/play.
Thanks guys & gals.
So I'm thinking about getting a PSPgo.

If you like PS1 games so much, why not buy the actual PS1 copies instead of getting a Go?

Well some ps1 games cost significantly more for a physical copy.
And I'd like to be able to carry the games around with me while I'm out and about.

I own one.Opa Opa wrote:Does anyone here own a PSPgo? If so can you tell me what you think of the system? I'm also wanting to know more about how comfortable it is to hold/play.
In short:
* A little on the small side, can be uncomfortable to hold especially if you have somewhat large hands. The analogue nub is the hardest to get used to. If you can demo it somewhere first, I'd recommend a very analogue heavy game like Modnation Racers to see how uncomfortable (if at all) your thumb gets. I find the start and select buttons challenging to press, but I usually have my nails done, and they're long and get in the way of a lot of things.
* The best screen of any PSP model, bar none.
* Battery life is complete shit. You're looking at about 3hrs on full charge with wireless off. Always have a charger nearby!
* Built-in Bluetooth means you can pair a PS3 controller with it, and use that instead. With the video-out cables, you can turn it into sort of a mini-console. The controller support is excellent, I use it quite frequently with the Go in its cradle. (Note: If you're looking at getting the cradle as an accessory, it needs the PSP-1000/-2000/-3000) A/C Adapter to power it, not the adapter from the Go).
* 16GB built right in a huge plus, and you can add to that with M2 (Memory Stick Micro) as you wish. Unfortunately it only takes the micro, not full-size.
It would be my personal favourite PSP model if it were a little wider, and if the battery life was better. As it stands now, I usually go back to the -2000 because it's more comfortable to hold, and the extended life battery actually allows for some decent away-from-the-charger playtime. Ultimately, it depends on how you use yours as to which is better for you.

Thanks.irixith wrote:~snip
I guess I'll go find a store that'll let me try one out. The analog stick/nub/thingy does look a tad uncomfortable to get to but I use the D-Pad on almost every game so that isn't a deal breaker.

I own a PSPgo, I don't use it but I bought it for my Grandfather. What I can say about it is that if you do not play video games and use it for things like music and movies which is the purpose why I bought it for him knowing he doesn't do any of that is because it's small, fits in the pocket and is a real cutie when you tuck the controls in.
It beats getting those MP4 players or those Sony Walkman's, I find it to be much superior and carry a better picture.

After leaving my 2000 series in a seat pocket of a Delta flight, (yep) I blindly went out and bought a Go. That was a mistake as my hands would start to ache after a few minutes of playing anything. I sold it and made back most of the purchase price. At some point I will get a 3000.....

Sony still makes Walkman's?AdamGomez1987 wrote:It beats getting those MP4 players or those Sony Walkman's, I find it to be much superior and carry a better picture.
Discomfort was your only reason for getting rid of it?Nutty wrote:After leaving my 2000 series in a seat pocket of a Delta flight, (yep) I blindly went out and bought a Go. What color is your go? I'm leaning towards the white one just because my black 2000 is a fingerprint magnet.irixith wrote:It would be my personal favourite PSP model if it were a little wider, and if the battery life was better.

You know, that's a good question as I haven't checked, I compared them to Walkman's is that was what my Grandpa wanted to buy and I tried my best to convince him to do otherwise. lol

Black. White electronics just look weird to me.AdamGomez1987 wrote:What color is your go? I'm leaning towards the white one just because my black 2000 is a fingerprint magnet.irixith wrote:It would be my personal favourite PSP model if it were a little wider, and if the battery life was better.
That's another positive for the Go by the way -- it doesn't really attract many fingerprints, because there aren't a lot of places to put your fingers.
