Video Game Related Toys/Statues

Post by IMJ »

Does anyone here ever get into game properties toys or statues? It's occured to me that over the years I've amassed a lot of video game related toys.

Of course the Metal Gear stuff looks great, but other notable lines were the recent Mega Man series and the older Marvel vs. Capcom stuff from Toy Biz. How about you guys?

I couldn't believe it but I saw a set of Link and Ganon Toy biz figs on the bay last week selling for like 60 bucks.... I had not idea those two were that scarce, or maybe it was a fluke.

The Mega Man line was pretty cool if you can get past the camp factor (big cheezy smiles, etc). I still remember the old school Lara Croft Toy Biz fig. Man was that thing awful, but it was a history maker as it was the first Tomb Raider piece, I guess. heh heh.

I always sort of wished for a Parasite Eve line... then again I've also always wished for more Parasite Eve games. I loved the atmoshpere in those.

The rare stuff is incredibly expensive. I have a Nights into Dreams plush doll that I pulled out of a UFO catcher in Tokyo back in 97' or so. Turns out the thing can sell for over $300! The full character set is around $1500. Mine will remain right ewhere its at,

Another great line right now is the Sota Toys Street Fighter collection. They have something like 20 character out spanning Street Fighter Alpha to Street Fighter 3. Once they release the next series all 8 original characers, bosses and new challengers will be out. I've got all the bosses and all of the SF2 characters available so far!

I have a few figurines from anime and video games. It's not something that's worth much money to me, though, so I don't have many and there are a lot I won't buy. A quick check of play-asia can tell you the sky is the limit for those things. Eek.

I got this Link bobblehead. The head is quite heavy so it will bobble for ages, even if you just walk by it.

ALso got this bowser bobblehead. Bobbles almost as good as Link, it is very cool.
