My legit copy doesn't do that. Sound is on, just doesn't sound quite like the genny. Kinda muffled or something, the eq is of balance.

Yeah, it must be random. I really doubt my hard drive is causing the issue, because the game just loads the rom and past that, it doesn't load anything else.

Ok Sega Genesis Collection sucks too. Fancy menus and nice extras, but who cares when the games still sound terrible? I think Ristar actually sounds worse here than it does in Mega Collection. Then I tried Sonic 2, and I immediately notice the SEEEEGAAA chant is scratchy and awful, and the ring grabbing noise is coming out of the left speaker only. Wtf? Turned it off. I can't believe it's actually worse than SMC. At least it does stretch to full screen.

Kega Fusion is the only decent way to emulate Genesis.

I don't recall having anything similar to complain about on my copy of SGC but I'll try it again tonight and see if I notice the same things you mentioned. As I mentioned above, I haven't tried every game on the disc, maybe some are better than others and maybe I only hit the good ones.
