I'm more surprised a pawn broker (picker, whatever) didn't snatch those up in the meantime. Most of those titles were fair, but PHANTASY STAR and GEMFIRE?FiftyDollarCurse wrote:hey zeus effin christ. You passed on that the first time?sevin0seven wrote:![]()

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I probably visited 25 or so yard sales in the last two weeks, found some pretty great stuff:

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber - $5
Super Smash Bros. - $5
Mario Tennis - $5
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - $5
This sale also had a complete system for $20, and a few other good games, but I didn't need them so I left it for some other fortunate gamer.
This sale though, was even better:

These folks were kind enough to let me fill a box, paid $30.00 total.
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (PS2)
Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
Mister Mosquito (PS2)
Escape from Monkey Island (PS2 - no manual)
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (PS2)
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (PS2)
Iron Man (PS2)
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox - PH)
Fable (Xbox)
Mario Superstar Baseball (GCN - no manual)
Custom Robo (GCN)
Tetris Plus (PS1 - GH)
Frogger (PS1)
The Game of Life (PS1)
- complete set of Batman Forever McDonald's glasses
- 7 X-Men figures
- 14 G.I. Joe figures + accessories
- 1 Mr. Krabs lego figure
These I found at the Mormon thrift store earlier today:

NHL 94 - $3
NHL 96 - $3
NHL 97 - $3
I've been trying to collect Sega Genesis hockey games for a while, and am kind of passively collecting them for other systems as well. I'm happy buying these complete SNES games at this price.
and this:

Tecmo Super Bowl II: Special Edition - $3
I snatched this up too, because I know the Tecmo Bowl games carry a little bit more collector cachet than other sports titles, and it was a complete SNES game. Thought it would be nice to trade for another cheap game. I had no idea this game is fairly rare. Cartridges alone on eBay completed for nearly $40.00, and this one is in very good shape, complete with manual, inserts, reference card and poster. And I thought for sure Ogre Battle 64 would be the most valuable game I got this week...

not to mention romance III and ys. damn. such a great score, that's gotta be one of the best ones in this entire thread, considering price paid and amount received.pakopako wrote:I'm more surprised a pawn broker (picker, whatever) didn't snatch those up in the meantime. Got a call from my dad today, and he picked up Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland for $2 at Goodwill. He said "I knew you would want it cause it's Kirby"

Picked up Return to Wolfenstein GOTY (2002) for PC cheap and a sealed fairly mint big box Baldur's Gate II Throne of Bhaal expansion. I don't own any Baldur's gate stuff at all so hedging on whether to sell it or not.
