Re: Question concerning buying a new PSP (firmware)
If I remember correctly, the PSP I bought in March this year at Gamestop came with a firmware somewhere 6.0 or higher.

Re: Question concerning buying a new PSP (firmware)
I thought that all firmwares were now hackable because the PSP master keys were found...
(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

ALL firmwares are hackable now. You can downgrade to 5.50 if you want from any firmware, but TN-HEN for current firmware is just as good.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Re: Question concerning buying a new PSP (firmware)
now I feel like such a noob, thanks so much guys! It's true, I haven't been on my PSP like I should have for the longest of times. So though it cannot be permanently hacked, it is still hackable to play PSP and PlayStation 1 games and maybe, hopefully not half bad at looking something up online with their browser...lol

What's so special about 5.50? Doesn't block certain homebrew or??avrame wrote:Beat me to itnoiseredux wrote:wololo.net

I'm out of date, 5.50 was the thing at the time because anything later you couldn't do anything. So I'm glad to have members here who know there stuff.D.D.D. wrote:What's so special about 5.50? Doesn't block certain homebrew or??avrame wrote:Beat me to itnoiseredux wrote:wololo.net

Re: Question concerning buying a new PSP (firmware)
Curious, if you mod/hack a PSP, can you still buy stuff off of PSN?
