Why All The Hate On Resident Evil 0

I've heard quite a few gamers bash this one. I guess I should be thankful because I picked it up for under $10 probably because of the bad reputation it has. But I'm playing through right now, and I'm enjoying it just fine. It plays just like a Resident Evil game should, good puzzles, good action, cool looking creatures. What's the problem?

No, it's a great game. I enjoyed it. I actually thought it was a bit more difficult than 2 or 3.

I think most people hated controlling 2 characters. I thought it made for great puzzle solving.

Sadly I couldn't say, as it's the only Resident Evil from the main series that I haven't beaten...heck, it's the only main RE entry that I haven't played. I need to get a new Gamecube and make that one of my Day 1 purchases...

It's plenty enjoyable still but yeah.

I loved the game. It did seem that people just did not like it as much, they said it was just more of the same rehashed stuff from what I remember reading. I guess that is why the next game in the series (Resident Evil 4) was a drastic change.

I liked it. No problems with it for me. Only reason I haven't beaten it is because when I first played it a year or two ago, it was directly after marathoning RE-RE4 + CV + REmake, so by then I was just a little winded down in general. I'll get back to it someday. From what I played I'd honestly put it above Code Veronica, and RE5 with no hesitation. CV I felt was the weakest of the classic styled ones because it had a massive amount of backtracking, which most of them do, but it was extreme in that one. Had some of the toughest puzzles in the entire series though I'd say.

I like it but there's nothing really special about. Most of the creatures are just boring mutated animals. Plus, since it's a prequel to the original you already know what's going to happen so there's not much to keep your interest.

It has great graphics and it is the last traditional RE so it's still worth a play through.

This is pretty much how I feel. Good game, but a weak classic RE game overall.

I was so excited in 7th grade when I read in EGM that RE 0 was going to be released for the n64. I remember telling one of my best friends and he thought I was just making it up. It didn't help my case when the game was canceled.

Uh, not really canceled but just bumped up to newer consoles I guess? I've seen some of the old screenshots though, pretty cool to look at. Kind of like the alpha of RE4 or RE1.5, or something.
