Video Game / Game Hunting Dreams?

Post by Mechblue »

Just wonder if anyone else has had dreams about video games or hunting for game deals in dreams?

I just had one last night where I was at some goodwill type thrift store and I bend down to look in a bin and its a bunch of super rare SNES games boxed, like chrono trigger, mega man x3, etc. So I'm scooping all these items up in to a basket and I know I need to get these out before some one else gets them and so I turn away for a bit and suddenly my basket of games is gone! I start freaking out; i'm pissed and talk to the employees but they say its not against any rules. Then I realize that my book of music CDs is missing and that some one stole that too (not sure why I had it with me in the store) and can't find it any where. I later find the CD case sitting with some other ones on a shelf but never find the games. :( Then the store closes and suddenly they're having a free movie night hosted by my friend who just moved back in to town. At which point I knew it was a dream and woke up.

Anyone else have dreams like this about video games? or finding / buying video games? Do you take these dreams as omens and hit up more thrift stores or garage sales?

I had a dream a week or two ago in which I purchased a Neo Geo AES for $2. I have dreams like that every so often.

I had a dream once about playing a lot of Sonic songs on a keyboard whilst touring with some band. It was weird needless to say. Luckily I don't dream often.

yeah, I've had dreams like that.

My first job was working at a thrift store (sadly it burned down about 5 years ago) and I still have fond memories of that place, and my dreams are of finding videogames are still linked to that memory of the thrift store.

I've had dreams where I am at a huge fleamarket and I am seeing many games there.

But I've had dreams that the games that I find are strangely shaped. I know they are cartriges, but they aren't shaped like any that I've seen. They are the classic boxy shape, but they have strange pictures on them and they just dont seem like any of the ones we have had or seen

There have been times with some dreams that there are so many games I dont know which ones to get.

I had a dream once that I was on a speeder bike like the ones in Extreme-G and I was speeding through tunnels where I could be on the ceiling, the walls, or whatever and it didn't matter. All of the dream was in computer graphics, so it was like living in a videogame, Tron-style. I had to lie on my belly to ride in the bike. It was a strange sort of lucid dream where I could tell I was lying on my belly in bed and could feel the matress, but it didn't bother me that the dream world had constructed itself around that sensation. I really enjoyed just flying at high speeds through these crazy future-bike tracks while fully aware I was in control of a dream. It was weird to be both aware of lying in my bed and dreaming at the same time, but it was such a fun dream.

Most recently, when I first played the new Mortal Kombat, as I was drifting off to sleep my mind still raced with fights. It was so bad that they actually kept me semi-awake for a while.

Yeah, most time I'm finding boxes with old games or weird retro bazars. And the dreams are always over before I can get my hands on them ^^'

Hah, i just had a dream 2 nights ago where I was going through a guys stuff that usually sells at the local flea market I go to. I wanted to buy an snes box (only) and he had quite a few there. I wanted the donkey kong one, but he kept asking for way too much money and I was getting annoyed. 80 dollars for only the box!? come on! I woke up, wishing I actually had the box.
