Playstation Vita thread

In all honesty, Playstation Vita and Next generation portable, everytime I hear those names I just hate them. When the new one comes out I'm just going to call it the new Playstation Portable lol. There's something very ugly about both of those names and as of still, my favorite models are the PSP 1000 and the 3000.

This may be an awkward opinion but I like the model appearance of them more than I do the Vita because I think the design just looks better to me.

Well, Sony just announced that the Vita will be coming out this year in Japan, but the rest of the world doesn't get to have it until 2012. Crud.

Give them more time for all I care. Let the developers have a chance to make quality titles.

I think just about everyone in the hardcore gaming world would have preferred PSP 2 to Vita, but Vita is more trendy; ergo, a higher number of hipsters will buy a Vita than if it had a practical name.

Yeah, at least the name isn't as ugly as Sony's cell phone names which is the Erricson..I think of a South Park character when I think of that name lol

I like "Vita" much better than "PSP2". Vita is a good name, I don't get the hate.

It doesn't sound like a PlayStation system. I think of the word Vitality which tells me it's going to survive or that it's a vitamin drink lol. Whether or not I'm right with that, that's what flows into my mind. It's just a preference that the original name always caught my attention best. I've been hard loyal to the original one for 6 years so forgive my bias

You do realize that's the name of the Swedish company that partnered with Sony to create the cell phone line, right? Sony didn't really have a hand in naming it.

That would explain things. Erricson doesn't sound like a Sony name.

I also heard rumors they're getting a Dynasty Warriors game to go with it. Maybe my dreams for Romance of the Three Kingdoms X will finally come alive! c:
