Thoughts on the Game(s)

I really enjoyed this game, the two title characters had a lot going for them, I found the first 10 chapters brilliant, I thought the games let off the gas a bit with the last 5 (6 including the bad ending) chapters, the game started to feel more like a strategy army style shooter, but it was all tied together nicely, I have played the first level of Dog Days, and it seems they really changed the formula up, I might take a bit of a break before tackling it though.

I really liked the game too, it's flawed as hell but it was incredibly fun, plus you have to admit that making a game in which the main characters are psychotic, unstable people is quite ballsy and it works incredibly well.

Beat Super Castlevania IV for the umpteenth time last night.

Other than "One of the best SNES games ever" I don't have too much to add. Great music, great graphics, great fun.

i have been looking for this game forever. not the GH version, but the black label version. i have come across a thousand GH versions in the wild. and i'm not exaggerating when i say a thousand. that is fact. and i didn't want to pay 30 bucks for a GH version because i'm just that type of guy. but, after searching and searching i finally found a black label version.

but, the game kicks so much ass it isn't even funny. it took me about 5 or 6 hours to get 95ish% completion without a walkthrough. i had to use a walkthrough to figure out how the hell you get the castle inverted. i just started going through the inverted castle, which i hope takes me just as long to get through. i am marking it as beat because going through the inverted castle is how you get the "good" ending.

the only thing that kind of pisses me off is that this was a direct sequel to rondo of blood, which was never released in the US.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Nah, finishing the first castle only doesn't count. That's only like fifty percent of the game. Looking forward to hearing you're thoughts on the game after you've really beaten it

Man, it's a shame that SotN was never released on CD32X like it was originally intended to; then your list would be almost completely Sega games! [I guess you could have played it on the Saturn, though...]

Rondo of Blood was made available on Wii's virtual Console. It was also remade as a 2.5d game for PSP, with SOTN as an unlockable (which had its script and voice acting redone, and Maria was made playable).

Not exactly timely I admit.

Didn't the PSP remake also have the original as an unlockable?
