Escargot looks awful but tastes great. So, who knows?

For all I know those canned worms taste better than a slim jim.

Nitpicking nerd mode: Spiders and scorpions are not insects! ;)
Yeah, I know nobody cares.
I disagree. I don't like eating anything that still has a recognizable face. I don't understand how people can boil lobsters alive and serve the whole thing at once. I think it's gross.

But, I can sit next to someone eating a lobster, which is more than I can say if anyone was eating any of that stuff. So maybe you have a point anyway.

most these countries started to eat and notice bugs as source of food, mainly because of famine through out various wars. China with the revolution, Cambodia and Vietnam during the Vietnam wars. As time pass and the countries stablize those types of insects are just found their way back into the food culture over there.

In 7th grade I was the only student that volunteered to try some escargot that a French teacher prepared. It was random, not even French class. I'd had frogs legs before and thats what the texture reminded me of. They were good, and I had seconds.

I could down some fried beetle grubs, and would try some silkworm soup... but anything with legs, like those spiders and scorpions? Forget it. Fun facts: The average person swallows several spiders per year while sleeping, and minute insect parts and debris can be found in most fresh and processed foods. The worst though is still when your outside and a bug flies in your mouth.
