I'm hoping Yoga will provide some flexibility training as well as the spiritual exercises I need to stay focused and compliment my daily physical training.. We did Warrior 1 and 2, and I gotta say it didn't bother me much because it's basically a fencing lunge, with your torso positioned to the front as opposed to the side, as we're accustomed to in fencing. For me, downward dog was a bit uncomfortable, as my body isn't used to being in a position other than at a computer or on the couch with a gamepad.. Gotta say - I'm all for the breathing excercises and silent reflection!
Hmm, I guess it could definitely be different depending on the workouts we're doing too. For me it's like 4-6 reps of the warrior stuff, going back into plank/downward dog, pushups, and a combination of that stuff. The whole 20 minute workout cooks my arms pretty good, lol. The side plank is the worst, but I've actually been able to pull it off the last few days I did it without dropping one of my knee's to the floor.

And yeah, my cooldown is only 5 minutes and not very meditative, but it is kind of awesome how it seriously relieves that 20-30 minute workout before it almost instantly. But not exactly I guess, the other day right after yoga I tried doing some iron gym lifts and couldn't do crap, haha...

I can also say, having the bad neck/shoulders that I have (whiplash from several years ago), this stuff really loosens me up pretty good too. I definitely like that.

This position is kind of hilarious:

It sounds like you're doing a more physical-intense cross-training session. Mine, we walked into a dim-lit room, took our flip-flops off and sat down on our mats. First, we drew 3 different cards from 3 different sets of "spiritual cards" (kind of like tarot, but not occult - more spiritual and reflective than magic.) We began with breathing exercises and becoming aware of our inner chakra. I totally dug the meditative aspect to it, and without the spiritual to balance out the harsh workout we went through for the next hour, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.. Half of the training for me with my sword has always been as much a spiritual journey as it is a physical one.

Dude, my neck was aching during and after some of the exercises we were doing.. I love how it stretched muscles I didn't know I had - just by breathing..!

Kind of reminded me of this:

Okay yeah, definitely sounds like we're doing some different workouts for sure, haha. I should probably mention I'm just doing mine at home while watching a DVD, sounds like you're actually going up to some fitness center or something with others? But yeah mine isn't too spiritual, I almost wish it was though just a tad, the breathing stuff is pretty cool honestly. And at the end of the cooldown you drop down the floor, open your arms out, close your eyes and "let your body sink into the floor". I almost try to apply that thinking now when I go to bed to relax more, sometimes it kind of works!

"downward dog" ... lol.

Yup, I do that too. I start with my fingertips and imagine they get really heavy. Then your hands, arms, legs, and finally your whole body. Then I turn around and I'm gone...

Yeah I've got some ridiculous insomnia, it does help a little though. I heard there's even like night yoga you can do before sleeping? Haha, I might have to look into that stuff and see what it does.

Smile: There have been no smiles today. Only chemistry.

Ticked: My chemistry teacher has been behind and has not posted many of our grades online until today. EVERYTHING is wrong. It says I got a 70 on the first test when I got a 90. It says that I got Ds on most of the homeworks while I got almost all A's. Things are listed twice, not scored correctly, ect ect. I have the second test this week, the final test next week, and very little time to deal with this bullcrap.

Had he been posting this stuff earlier like he said he would (over and over again) I could have dealt with this so much earlier. I am so freaking pissed. I have been working my ass off in this class for 4-10 hours a day to earn good grades and now this craps all over my day. And now I get to keep on working on that chemistry quiz due in 2 hours that has already taken me two hours.

College. I know it can be corrected, but it will take time and he's REALLY bad at getting around to that sort of thing. I've been prodding for weeks about when he'll get the corrected test scores up (he had a bad question that he decided to accept other answers for) and he didn't do it until today. Except now my score is 20 points lower than it should be.
