I see. I never had an Atari or a Commodore, only the Sega Genesis, so when I saw the plug my mind immediately went to 'Genesis lightgun.' I have learned something new. Thanks HobieHobie-wan wrote:My Famiclone with a gun looks almost exactly like that and plugs in with a DB-9 socket like that. The DB-9 is a standard plug, so it is cheap. Sega, Atari, and Commodore used those plugs for price reasons too.Michi wrote: Is it? I know it fits into my Genesis, but I don't have it hooked up (need a new connector) so I couldn't test it just now and I don't have any Famiclones. Doesn't have any name on it though, so you're probably right. Oh well.

Took a trip to Austin today and stopped by the Gameover in the North part of town - and lo and behold but there was an indigo gameboy player sitting there, begging me to give it a home.
Well really, who could resist? Also they had a CIB near mint copy of KoF evolution for the Dreamcast. And I was able to pick it all up with store credit. Woot!

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

There's a small indoor flea market near where I live, and they had some NES and SNES games there. Picked up Super C for $5. Might go back and try get a few more sometime.
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Kinda so-so weekend for game stuff. Found better deals on other non-game stuff.
My home town goodwill has seen the light and now sells games for .99
Mario Sunshine (complete)
Ape Escape
Shooter: Space Shot
Hit up the weekly swap meet and goodwill across the street, found some master system stuff which I'm just grabbing anything:
Rocket Bomberman - $1
F-16 Fighting Falcon (card game, complete) - 2.99
Hang On / Astro Warrior (missing manual) - 2.99
Casino Games (complete) - 2.99
Stopped by a pawn shop / thrift store (people bring their stuff in to sell in their little booth in the store)
N64 unit - $2
Pokemon Pinball - $1 (missing battery cover)
Huge box of loose pokemon cards - $3 for co-worker's son

Nice! I just got my copy of Reach "limited" edition for that price used complete, even the diary wasn't opened!
Nonetheless, I have to beat Halo 3 first

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
not a find, but a tale of one other's find...
i was perusing a gamexchange when i heard one of the employee's talking about how they had a discolored dreamcast that he thought would never sell... he then told of some kid and his mom that came in.. the kid saw the discolored dreamcast and exclaimed, "..a dreamcast GOLD edition! ..these are super rare..." (not an exact quote...) .."mom we gotta get this!" so the kid's getting it and asks if the controller is gold too, to which the employee replied "sort of" ... and off went the one and only Dreamcast GOLD Edition.
on a similar note... a few weeks prior they had a sega sports dreamcast, $25, just the same as the regular dc's

It was the limited edition Mortal Kombat: Gold series. It was manufactured in the same plant that gave birth to the Dreamcast 2.optmusprimenumber wrote:not a find, but a tale of one other's find...

The only reason the Gold Dreamcast has even seen the light of day is because police reports claim "the plant was infiltrated by a caucasian male, described by eye-witnesses to be in his mid to late 20's, lanky, and dressed as 'some fruity, bare-chested Rambo wannabe.'" Eyewitnesses report the alleged intruder ran away with the only copy of the gold console, screaming "Assassin's Creed!"

That's hilarious and sad at the same time. I guess the kid was thinking of the gold N64, and confused it with Dreamcast.optmusprimenumber wrote:not a find, but a tale of one other's find...
