Fighters for more than 2 players?

Post by dsheinem »

Other than Smash Bros. and the like, are there any fighting games that feature 3 or more players fighting against each other on the screen at the same time (1 vs 1 vs 1 etc.)?

Separate question: are there any that can be easily set up for local tournaments of 1 vs 1 with 3,4,5,6 or more players?

I'm especially interested in anything that might be fun to play at the upcoming PA/NY meetup...

The Bleach fighting games on the DS support 4 player battles, with two planes available (and switching between them).

Doesn't the Dreamcast version of Marvel vs Capcom have 4-player tag matches, with two people on each team? I've never played it, only the arcade and ps1 versions, but I heard about it somewhere.

Edit- Actually, nevermind. For some reason, missed the part about 4 players at the same time. My bad.

Power Stone 2 on the DC allows 4 players simultaneously, you probably already knew that.

Bleach Blade Battlers (the first one and the 2nd) on the PS2 also supports four player fights (since it's basically just a SSMB with Bleach characters).

Naruto Shippuuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 on the Wii supports 4 players at the same time (there is a tag and non-tag mode). I'm not sure if the other CONs have 4 player matches as well, since I don't have them (I have gekitou ninja taisen special, which is newer but only has tag co-op)

Guardian Heroes allows 6 players (but I think everyone knows that by now)

I think the Saturn and Dreamcast versions of Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 will allow two against 1. I could be wrong, though.
