Thanks everyone.

I have another question. Are you able to go into the system menu and set it to 4:3? (It probably does but I want to double-check.)

And I'll probably end up with a component video cable instead of getting a new tv for sake of convenience.

Yes, it can be set to 4:3. Some games will still have bars on the top and bottom of the screen, though.

Well someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think CRT's support component anyways. It's gotta be an HDTV, it's just a tiny step down from using actual HD cables, you just might save a little more money going with component cables (but say you did have an HDTV and the money, I'd certainly go with HD cables, plus it's just one plug in so it's lazy and convenient, lol).

Maybe you meant to say S-Video? For SDTV's S-Video is definitely one of the best options if possible, but again not all of them support S-Video sadly.

My tv's inputs:

1- Coax
2- Composite
1- Component
1- S-Video.

My 360 is currently hooked up to the Component input. I actually just hooked it up to a composite input to see the differences.

Component is supported on CRTs if it has the inputs.
Component SDTV CRT = 480i.
Component EDTV CRT = 480i or 480p.
Component HD CRT = 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p and 1080i.

Depending what inputs you TV has go in this order:
1. HDMI/DVI
2. Component
3. SVideo
4. Composite
5. RF (Don't bother)

I should call up Sony and ask for an RF adapter for a PS3.

edit---
I just noticed that a lot of ps3 games are cheap now. Awesome.
I may get to try out MGS4: The Movie: The Game sooner than I thought.

Just use the PS1 RF adapter. PS3 uses the exact same AV cords that PS1 and 2 used.

I know the ps3 has "trophies/achievements/whatever". Is it like the 360 in which a box pops up on-screen whenever you get one?
