Need Racketboy's expertise on a Dual Shock franken-mod.

Thanks for the images, I'm having problems situating the cord, does it go behind the circuit board? How does it wrap around the pegs? That's the most problematic thing for me right now.

Also, where's the four pronged claw thing that goes over your d-pad? Does your DS not have one or am I not seeing it?

If you fit the plastic frame first, then route the mian wire through the pins and then fit the board.
It's a little tricky as they are all connected.

you put the little 4 prong thing under the rubber conductor bc the center of the prong piece sits in the rubber. you feed the wire left to right until it sits in.

Duly noted, I had it on the wrong side. Now the d-pad feels firmer when I put pressure on it.

Still trying on the cord...


EDIT: Just now noticed your DS is different from mine. I have the PSone version, gonna take a picture of my internals because they're not the same.

Have you put the shorter prong in the right place?

Mine is a PSone ds SCPH-110.

The prongs for the cord to wrap around are on the back side of the plastic plate, not on the controller for mine.

the shorter side shouldn't matter, i was looking at a ds2 and all 4 legs are the same length.

i guess you just need to fiddle with it. there are so many revisions of ds controllers.

I have the 4 pronged thing under the d-pad, I feel like if it's on top of the d-pad, it's too mushy whereas like this, the d-pad has the right amount of firmness. I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like.

Can you not fit the plastic frame, then route the main wire before fitting the board, like in this pic?


The D pad will feel mushy until the back case is fitted.

If you carefully clean the contacts and the black pads on the rubber for the d-pad, it will probably work fine again as long as too much of the conductive material hasn't come off.
