I'm sort of kicking myself for not getting the collectors edition in the first place, but now that I'm 60+ hours in, I'm finding myself wanting the useless poker chips, platinum chip, caravan deck, and graphic novel. I found it for $45 on Amazon, but I'm on the fence since I already own the normal version of the game.

Anyone else ever bought the collectors edition of a game after already owning the normal version?

Imho, save your green and wait until 2012 for a random cheapo deal. I can almost guarantee you'll find the CE online for sub $30 if you keep your eyes open. I'm not in the business of purchasing $80+ CE, LE, and pre-order bonuses at launch anymore. More often than not you've got a fair shot at so called LE titles resurfacing again for bottom o' the barrel prices....some Atlus releases excluded.

Some gamestop stores still have them for $30. I bought mine a month or so ago for that price, and even though this isn't as bad as Halo Reach legendary edition in terms of over production, this CE will be around for a while so even if it's not in stock at a GS near you, I'm sure you will find it for $30 somewhere else if you keep your eyes open.

I've done that with some games (Two Worlds, BlazBlue and... Prince Of Persia?)

I'm a sucker when it comes to CE/LE games. The mass releases I try to stay away from because they go for dirt cheap in time. Gotta jump on those obscure ones

That's how I feel. Plus, I find many of the extra stuff to be pretty pointless things that I'll never use or care about. I feel the same way about pre-order bonuses. Plus, they're not practical. Fitting them on a shelf is a pain and sometimes the packaging is shit like the annoying steel case for the collector's editions of Final Fantasy 12 and the PS 2 version of Resident Evil 4, where you have to really pull on those discs to get them out. Also, I like a uniform look on my shelf. Every game in a standard case.

Lastly, nothing makes you look like more of an uber nerd than being the guy standing in line who is buying the uber, deluxe, special edition of a game.

For people into sealed collecting though, those maybe the only sealed games with real value outside of a VGA graded game
