PS3's have there own hardware issues now, most of which Microsoft has resolved, so in reality the build is nothing to go by.benderx wrote:why should I buy an xbox 360, I've heard so much about the red ring issues that i'll take my chances with wii, ps3, ps2, dc.

I do agree, but after watching a youtube video few years ago. Some gaming dude walks into walmart or target and buys an xbox 360 and when he got home it stop working after a fews day. He returns it get another one opens it in the car. In the car he plugs it and play. He find out it bad unit. Does it a 2nd time in the car same thing red ring. This was a few years about 2 or 3. I couldn't believe how many owners had to rebuy (or get it fix) there 3rd or 6 unit. I wish i could find video

I would call bullshit on it not working in the car, the issue with them was overheating, hardly going to do that after being on for the first 10 seconds of its life.benderx wrote:emwearz wrote:PS3's have there own hardware issues now, most of which Microsoft has resolved, so in reality the build is nothing to go by.benderx wrote:why should I buy an xbox 360, I've heard so much about the red ring issues that i'll take my chances with wii, ps3, ps2, dc.

I can't speak for the video benderx is talking about (never heard of it myself), but its not bullshit that some of them didn't work right off the bat.
I speak from experience.
My very first launch 360 red ringed right out of the box. And I don't mean that it turned on, and then red ringed, I mean it never booted at all. Plugged it in, hit power, red ring.
I ended up getting the famous xbox "coffin" to send to Microsoft, and I'm still not sure if they fixed my original or sent me a new one.
Either way, the one they sent me has been going strong ever since. I did unfortunately have to deal with a red ring recently, but I ran the hell out of the system and it did well for 5 years, so I was happy with its service. I got it fixed the proper way for a good price too, so its healthy again.

Re: Why Buy a $600 PS3?
I'm somewhat interested in getting a BC PS3, so I'll try not to be biased. My main problem with Sony is the controllers they have They always felt so boxy to me. It was always like holding a shoebox. And the exclusives? There aren't that many for any system anymore. (Well, Wii might be an exception) I've never had a problem with my 360, which has the last chip that was made before moving to the slim model. IDK, it just annoys me everybody says LOL, teh red reengz maeks it suckz. (No offense, just aggrivated.) Like I said, I just tend to defend what I have. Oh, and Xbox 360 controller kicks all kinds of ass compared to PS controller.
