What do you dislike the most about your favorite console?

-life span was too short
-controller was not that good for 2d fighters, which dc had alot of
-used gd instead of dvd
-cd drive is crappy, the finest scratch on disk will most likely give you problems.

SNES - Honestly, mine hasn't discolored a bit, and none of my save batteries have died. I have no complaints with this console whatsoever.

Dreamcast - Needs a reset button.

DS (and 3DS too): The screens are a damn dust magnet, and they're an absolute pain to get clean again because of the texture of them

Anyone got any tips? Especially for the ridge around the edge of the screen.

SNES - I'll have to change batteries in all of my battery-saved games, meaning I'll have to open up expensive RPGs to do it.

That and the fact that most of my consoles won't work without upscaling on a current TV (because CRTs will disappear someday sooner that we think).

My favorite is the N64. I have a hard time choosing between the analog sticks that wear out, and the carts with no end labels as my biggest dislike.

Dreamcast - Needs a reset button.

What's wrong with a reset from the controller? It's not like gamers want to move more than absolutely necessary. Or maybe you have lots of problems with your DC freezing up.

I like how so many of the posts have nothing to do with the console itself, but it's games/controllers. It's not my favorite system, but the xbox is a monster. Come to think of it, I'm not 100% sure what my favorite console is.

I guess my major gripe is that EA doesn't make hockey games like they used to. '94 and 2001 are pretty close to perfection; not sure why we need to use 10 buttons and analog sticks just to control and shoot a puck. EA tried out a "classic" button format for 2009 (I believe it was 2009) and it stunk and limited playability and wasn't even really the "classic" format.

I guess I was just spoiled back in '94.

Screen protectors? Well I always close my DSes (plural?) when I'm done gaming so they don't have dust and what not.

my favorite is the model 1 sega sitting on top of the model 1 sega cd unit. i think that combo is just the coolest looking console...ever. if it could be morphed into a human it would no doubt be a super model.

but i dislike that there is a cd drive. at some point the model 1 is going to shit the bed. when that day comes, however, i probably won't even disconnect the two. my model 1 will forever sit on top of the cd component - working or not.

and that brings me to the cdx. i have a perfectly working cdx but i know it will crash out on me at some point. do i sell it for a decent amount while it is still working or do i keep it until it flatlines - causing its value to be worthless?

too bad sega didn't release another console that managed to put cd qualitiness into a cart.
