Funny thing is, I remember all the way back when I was 8 years old when x-men vs street fighter came out. This is where the whole "Cross Over" universe began over in my mind. Some people had comic books in their life such as Marvel where they would see all sorts of super heroes from different comics collide but this transition happened for me all the way back in the arcade.
The strongest image that remains in my head that I am saddened that couldn't be in the third installment is the mental image of Ryu shaking Cyclops' hand when the big logo comes up: "X-MEN VS STREET FIGHTER!!"
This game was the greatest thing that entered my life as an early gamer and I remember clearly constantly playing this game over and over and quarter after quarter ( this was back when 25 cents was the norm and putting 50 cents into the machine was considered extremely expensive ).
I also remember getting the Playstation version, I won't lie that I did feel betrayed when I found out you could only play as one character ( More of a Street Fighter Alpha style of game play I thought ) though the game was severely watered down ( too bad that game never came to the Saturn in the states ) it was still extremely fun for an 10 year old just the thought of not having to put another 25 cents into a machine was the most rewarding feeling I could ever have with endless game play.
Favorite characters: Ryu x Ken ( I loved their double Shinshu Hadoken, felt just like the Animated movie when they killed off Bison, that especially got me excited when I used it against Apacolypse thinking that's how Ryu & Ken would defeat Apcolypse with that same move )
