Re: The Wrestling Thread
A match against Cole? Are you serious bro?
Well, hopefully it's the first of many tv appearances for the man with the spiked hair
How is Keith Stone smooth when he can only make one out of three divas happy? What a dumb segment that was.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
That was a pretty head scratching Raw. I don't get Cena and Triple H going completely heel on Mysterio. Making him fight another match? Really? That's what I called screwing someone
Anyway, it seems Punk has officially announced his return to the WWE

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I like Keith and his tv commercials, but a GOOD Keith Stone segment on Raw would have ended with all three divas saying, "Keith Stone, you're so smooth". What they ACTUALLY did was stupid and typical of the WWE way of doing thingsBurningDoom wrote:What? Keith Stone is the man!Gamerforlife wrote:A match against Cole? Are you serious bro?

Okay, I'm not gonna bash on Cena again, but they were saying on the PWTorch podcast yesterday about how Cena is kind of the downside right now and within the next one or two years WWE is going to NEED someone to replace him and they need to start building that guy now. Do you guys think Punk is that guy?

uhhh.. YEAH! Punk had that crowd in more of a frenzy for that MitB title match than anything Cena's done in his 9 years...Gamerforlife wrote:Okay, I'm not gonna bash on Cena again, but they were saying on the PWTorch podcast yesterday about how Cena is kind of the downside right now and within the next one or two years WWE is going to NEED someone to replace him and they need to start building that guy now. Think about it.. Remember when Hogan, (yeah - sorry for the nostalgia, once again!) was on his way out in the late 80's/early 90's and WWF tried to build Warrior up to be his successor? Well, we all know how that ended up.. So after Hogan left, and Warrior decided to stop showing up to shows, WWF pretty much stalled for a few years.. Until an unlikely anti-hero emerged and took the wrestling franchise by storm..
In my opinion, history repeats itself - and this is the birth of a new anti-hero in Punk. Nexus was bullshit! But it was the lame, necessary gimmick that was needed to establish Punk as a heel. Now, he's basically championing for all of us wrestling purists out there.. Why? Because he IS a wrestling fan, just like Austin, Hogan, Flair, and yeah - even Cena. And before people think I'm bashing Cena - I'm not! The guy's a great company man, and does a great amount of charity work and kid's benefits. But that's the problem: the fans with the wallets don't want a company man - they want another tough S.O.B to go against Triple H and everything he and his douchebag father-in-law stand for.. Punk is that guy. Cena is not. Punk is the future..

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Raw was freaking awesome! I loved seeing Triple H return, I'm a fan of Morrison so his return was great, and best of all JIM ROSS RETURNS, WHOOOO!!!! Him on commentary makes anything more exciting. And the end of Raw with CM Punk and Cena holding the titles was great. A picture-perfect moment for the history books (or DVDs).
What really surprised me, in a good way, was the Rey Mysterio vs. John Cena match. I'm so used to seeing both of these guys go out and do the same old routine every match but this was something else. They both WRESTLED a great match. I emphasize "WRESTLED" because you never see that from Cena. Mysterio in years past would wrestle his heart out, but in the last few years it's rare to see him put on a great match like this as well. So it was a treat.
I'm loving Raw the last few weeks. The feeling of unpredictability is back. The feeling of caring about what the fans want is back. And it seems that the PG-Era is over. Long live the Triple H era!

CM Punk Article
Awesome article going back to 2007 when Shawn Michaels expressed faith in Punk. The best part, however, is the two videos featuring CM Punk going to a 6year old John Cena fan's house last week with the belt and being smacktalked by a little kid.
