yeah you didn't take it well, but I know the feeling. I've had that issue whenever I've mentioned my method.
I understand those who want to do the pencil eraser method, and honestly I plan to use that for Atari carts since they're very hard to open. I don't feel like the metal polish method can be done well without opening the cart. Which is why I also don't use it to clean game sockets. I spray contact cleaner into the socket then rub with a shop towel wrapped around a credit card. I guess ultimately I suggest you use Scott Shop Towels. They are strong, soft, and don't seem to leave stuff behind like paper towels.

@3GenGames
Your link that professed Weimans as a super duper secret didn't mention cleaning up the after using it.
First you said it didn't leave a residue, then you called everyone idiots for not trying your technique, now you say you do wipe up after the Weimans. If it works with the extra residue cleanup step, then fine, it works. You're the one that provided inconsistent information and called everyone else 'idiots' and said this was an 'inferior' community.
The point I was making is that a plastic eraser and/or electrical contact cleaner will remove dirt and light corrosion without leaving any residue that needs further cleaning. Full stop.

It doesn't leave a residue if you don't use too much, although I can't keep the ammount I get out constant so I just to it that way. And I only use the water and that to make sure that nothing is on there that I can't see, is there something wrong with that?
And yes, this community is people who play retro games, I believe that there are better places on the web that have better ideas on how to go stuff, and are smaller and have better information. That's just my views of this site and other sites I join and see what they know. I'm not pulling this pout of my ass like you make it seem, I've learned this via other communities and experience. Considering this forums vibe of not trying anything they don't feel like, makes me believe it's probably going to have inferior experience and knowledge in what works well, in this case cleaning games.

Well, if this is flaming:3GenGames wrote:And thanks Jamisonia, that sounds like what happened here, except I don't take flaming well.![]()
Then go and have intercourse with yourself...elmagicochrisg wrote:Oh well, doesn't matter. As long as we are both happy with the end result, that's all that counts...
Anyways, my question has been answered. It's the same pin connector...

I didn't read any flaming going on until a few users didn't just jump right on board and posed other methods and asked questions. Followed by some angry remarks for not just automatically agreeing.

You guys won't post pictures with your comparison of Wiemans vs erasers vs whatever because you know you'd be wrong. We all know what erasers do, why go through the trouble of posting what I have? Post some Wiemans, or something that works better.

Weiman's, not Wiemans. If you wanna promote a product, at least do it right...
And please do tell me, where the f*%# am I going to find Weiman's in Belgium. Huh?...
Please, just go to your precious high standard forums and give it a rest...
PS First question was rhetorical. Don't even bother...

A stove top cleaner is a bullshit thing to clean electrical contacts with. I don't care how much you bitch about it, I'm never going to try it. You're calling us idiots for not liking or wanting to try your method. The fact is, many of us are smart enough to know that your method is bullshit. Yet you're calling us idiots for it, and saying the ENTIRE FORUM has inferior experiences and knowledge. Really?
You should really learn not to be a complete dickbag when people don't agree with you. Seriously, go back and read this through every post in this thread. Pretend your user name is something else. Tell me that person isn't being a complete ass hole, acting like a 5-year-old.
If you wanted people to agree with you, acting like a douche and calling the entire forum idiots is definitely not the way. You need to learn how to act better. Besides, you should remain level-headed about things like this anyway. Why can't YOU be wrong? Why not?
So keep trolling this thread, or grow up and learn to debate things like an adult would.
