I don't know if you're serious or joking now, but if I recall correctly at least two of us on this forum honestly love that movie.
I think it's a really fun and imaginative film. Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper are all three absolutely great in it. Really underrated.

So yeah you can count me among the people who genuinely love that film. Wish it'd release on blu ray.
I'm a fourth! The movie really is a '90s classic with a lot to offer if you're willing to appreciate it. It has its flaws, sure, but overall it's a real treat.

Have any of you three ever been to the movie's website? I know that they're pushing for a Blu-Ray re-release. Wouldn't hurt to get any of you over and involved. :P

Fixed!

You've got to admit there was a shit ton of obvious greenscreen scenes.

I know. Plot does, which Cap lacked.
Fun? Yes.
A well put together movie? Nope.

I can only suspend disbelief for so long, and it was a chore even in the first act. I still can't figure out why the writers didn't take advantage of the Red Skull. One of the best villains of all time, and they wasted him. Having him hump an American flag would have been more evil than anything he does in the movie.

The dude wanted to take over the world. I think that's pretty evil.

Overall I liked the movie. It's in line with the other Marvel movies that will all converge. The action was more fast paced and intense than I was expecting. A few things didn't make a whole lot of sense.

spoilers. . .

The ending. I heard them say they wanted to do other captain america movies set in the 40s, but they froze him in ice at the end and then he wakes up in modern day. How's that supposed to work?

And Red Skulls comment on the catwalk. Something about "we're the same, I'm just not afraid to show it". Uh, he had spent the whole movie up to that point wearing a mask to hide his red skullness, and Captain America had spent most the movie parading his identity around in shows and movies, while telling everyone who would listen what his aspirations were.

That's my point. Wasted opportunities. Every supper villain wants to rule the world.

The red skull just rode around in a motorcycle and talked a bunch.

I haven't seen the movie itself yet (but I definitely plan to), however I've read Marvel Comics my whole life and the explanation is quite simple: He's a freaking Nazi. It doesn't get more evil than that unless you're from the fiery pits of hell.

True Grit

I enjoyed it and was surprised that I did to be honest. I thought the ending scenes were not needed and took away from the movie as a whole.
