Awesome.Beavis and Butt-head Rock Comic-Con with Fall 2011 Return
Heh-Heh
Anyone born between 1974 and 1984, rejoice: MTV is about to get cool again. Months ago we heard a tantalizing rumor suggesting that the adult cartoon to start all adult cartoons would make it's return, and at Comic-Con this week, Beavis and Butt-head creator Mike Judge confirmed the awesome news. Here's when TV's trash-talking twosome will return to the airwaves. (Hunh. This rocks.)
As we reported last February, major Beavis and Butt-head buzz has circulated to indicate that the two dumbest (and simultaneously most genius) cartoon characters of all time are making a comeback. Beavis and Butt-head saw its first go-round in March 1993, and the MTV cartoon's popularity was punctuated with a 1996 feature film, Beavis and Butt-head Do America (which reportedly grossed $80 million worldwide).
After Beavis and Butt-head's November 1997 exit from MTV, UPN and Comedy Central both re-ran the show. Still, the potty-mouthed pair have never re-risen to the prominence they enjoyed in the mid-1990s...until now.
At Comic-Con this week, creator Mike Judge, now 48 years old, announced that Beavis and Butt-head will return to MTV this October. Judge assured Comic-Con goers that the Burgerworld buttmunches haven't grown up at all, but they have evolved with the times, as Yahoo! UK reports Beavis and Butt-head will "riff on music videos, YouTube submissions and MTV shows such as Jersey Shore and Teen Cribs. 'They're also watching UFC fights,'" [Judge] said."
Judge's comment on why he's bring stupid back? "I felt like TV was getting too smart." Uh, right. As for America's love for the dumb, 90 percent of New York Daily News poll participants answered that without a doubt, they'll tune in to see the return of TV's most terrible (and, let's face it, lovable) team. LimeLifers: will you?

With the added competition from South Park and Seth MacFarlene, here's wishing Judge luck. I doubt anything lasting 20 minutes will come out of the duo (though they did have the movie) -- I expect several shorts to fly like Aqua Teen Hungerforce used to do. (And "Carl's Pissed" shorts online.)
(I liked Judge's King of the Hill best out of all these series he created; it was like a good live sitcom, but a live-action version would have been a huge pain to create.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

It's pretty much exactly how it was in the past

'course that means that people who hated it will still hate it, but I doubt this show is trying to change the world.

Best case scenario: Beavis and Butt-Head dominate adult cartoons, forcing Family Guy, The Simpsons and South Park into long overdue retirement.

Finally Mike Judge is back to doing what he does best. Stupid shit for the sake of doing stupid shit. Everything else he's done just seems kind of overwrought, whether it's Office Space, Idiocracy, or King of the Hill. B&BH is just good fun.
