I'm the opposite. I personally feel Death Proof was much closer in execution to a real grindhouse film. IE: they weren't non-stop eye candy -- they were usually low fucking budget with lots of scenes that had no real point but to kill time. So to me it was spot-on. Again, I'm a big fan of seriously bad cinema. Not just campy, but straight up bad. So yeah. I love Death Proof. Nothing in it bored me in the least. Trust me. I've sat through soooo much worse.Jrecee wrote:I thought death proof was boring too. One of the few movies where I actually fast forwarded on my first viewing (the part with the girls in the restaurant talking about absolutely nothing while the camera went around in circles). Planet Terror was awesome though.

noise, you've got a point, many grindhouse films had USELESS scenes that were used as filler but nothing is as bad as Death Proof. But the car chase scenes are absolute masterpieces.
And I actually like many videogame adaptations, I loved Silent Hill and Mortal Kombat and I enjoyed RE: Afterlife 3D a lot.
I love terrible cinema too, I love Russ Meyers's films, most rape/revenge flicks, Vampyros Lesbos, Chinese Torture Chamber Story (That film's hilarious), Zombi 2, Buio Omega, The Beyond, Rabid, Axe, Basket Case, Blood Feast, etc.brunoafh wrote:Same here all the way. As others have stated, Nolan was just ending it in a way to mess with you. Momento did they same thing as you're not sure if Leonard will finally have some peace he can never understand or if he does understand a little and tainted your opinion of him.BRIK wrote: I hate it when they do that, just leaving it open for a sequel. I wish people would just make one off movies these days like they use to instead of trying to make a trilogy out of everything.

Ok, my meh thoughts on Machete kind of made me lose interest in the sequels. But now rodriguez goes and announces Machete Kills Again. . . In Space! That shit I would see.

I think it's a really fun and imaginative film. Bob Hoskins, John Leguizamo, and Dennis Hopper are all three absolutely great in it. Really underrated.Limewater wrote:I don't know if you're serious or joking now, but if I recall correctly at least two of us on this forum honestly love that movie.Xeogred wrote:

So yeah you can count me among the people who genuinely love that film. Wish it'd release on blu ray.
