I'm looking to see if anyone is experienced and willing to do the screen and battery mod for my nomad. PM me if you can. Thanks.

Everything is put back together and working really good!
Just a heads up for anyone thinking about buying that LCD that I have: you need to take the 3 menu switches right off the board for it to fit in the case.
I did notice that there is a light towards the bottom of the screen that is a bit garbled up but hardly noticeable at some points when I'm playing. All in all not a bad upgrade for $27!
Here are a couple quick pics I took. I'll be uploading a video soon.

EDIT: Here's a video of the screen in action!

I finished the screen mod today. I went through 3 screens doing it but now it seems to work fine. Next I will install a 50/60 Hz switch to be able to play all my PAL games.
Mostly harmless

Anyone that runs across this thread should know that the screen that member Rayban used does have a few quirks but aren't really dealbreakers

I recently used it and the picture flashes white every once in awhile (which he mentioned and you can see this happen in his youtube video link above) not that big a deal, doesn't really deter gameplay

Also there are some diagonal scrolling lines that arent extremely noticeable

all in all it gets the job done

we should start a compatibility list of lcd screens and their issues/quirks

Hello folks :)

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone involved in this mod (especially hailrazer of course).

I just managed to get my LCD mod working properly last night - had some difficulties with the newest revision of that reverse parking thingmajig. Even though the new board has shrunken in size (as far as I can tell) they added 3 buttons on top of the board to change Brightness, Aspect Ratio, Tint, Color, Contrast and Language. After I had made some changes in the options I tried to desolder them ...without success. In the end I had to break them off one by one to fit the controller board into the Nomad.

If someone has questions to the new revision of the reverse parking screen and/or are stuck with it just PM me and I'll try to help you as best as I can!

Nomad + modern LCD technology = BLAST PROCESSING² GALORE

I'm out, keep it up, much love to hailrazer for these awesome mods!

I only read through the first three pages and the last page, so I apologize if this has been spoken about already, but can a screen modification also be done to the Game Gear? If so, I'm willing to pay what it takes to increase the overall quality of the screen. I know I've seen where someone replaced a Game Gear screen with a Nomad one, but this was a home project he did and I really don't have the soldering and electronic skills.

Thank you! Again, apologies if this has already been said.

While theoretically it can be done it is incredible difficult to fit a new screen and the circuit necessary to convert the signal for the screen.

So I guess no one will do it, is what you are saying, because it's a hard mod to do. As I said, money isn't an issue. Plus if it took a couple weeks to get everything together that's fine with me as well.
