In fact, at that time, I think the WCW Championship was still being seen as the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, so it actually carried more respect and tradition (at that time at least) than the WWF Championship did.
I remember the WWF kept billing Flair as the NWA champ. I don't believe I heard them mention anything about WCW.

Flair and Heenan refered to it as the "Real World's Title" or as Flair as the "The Real World Heavyweight Champion". I don't think any organization was ever mentioned, probably due to fear of a legal actions which actually made them stop using the physical title belt as well.

You know, I actually think it would be cool for a McMahon Hemsley Era 2 right about now. I mean Hunter is the new boss now. Turn him heel. Then have Punk come back with the original world title while Hunter and Steph have some new heel champ wearing the new title(How awesome would Chris Jericho be in that role?)

How bout this for a dream scenario? Hunter and Steph heading a heel faction with Miz, Jericho, Del Rio and R Truth, who by this point in time have all held the world title. Punk comes crashing Raw with Ryder, Cabana, and Luke Gallows and some badass new Ring of Honor talent. Ryder can still be his goofy, self but actually get things done in the ring. Have some friction between Punk and Cena, but Cena reluctantly helps Punk anyway. Or hell, maybe by now Cena would have turned heel. That would be awesome

Nah.... All that would make way too much sense for the WWE..

Side note: Why do they still have Smackdown..? It's so bad anymore. I really wish they'd just combine the two factions again and have one Monday Night show.. It's Professional Wrestling, not the damn NFL...

At this point, their roster is still bloated enough that they need to run two shows.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

They just need to drop the two main belts to one and not split up the roster. Dumbest idea they ever came up with if you ask me. It's nice to give the wrestlers a break and not have to travel to two or more shows a week, but yeah... how about just don't book the same wrestlers twice a week unless they're willing to do it or something? The split thing is just so dumb to me.

Basically, what Rurouni_Fencer said. This isn't the NFL. lol
