Battlefield 3 Alpha
Battlefield 3 Alpha
So who got in? I got in and I'm looking for some people to team up with. Battlefield always sucks when you're playing it alone.

Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
It's private Alpha, Invite from EA only. There's no websites to sign up, this isn't like those Open Betas, this is a full NDA, 6 pages of terms to accept, jobbies. If any website is offering 'alpha invites' then it's complete baloney, just trying to scam you out of your details.lwcook wrote:I think I speak for everyone when I say "Fucking where?!?!?"Niode wrote:So who got in? The email says:
"As one of our valued and trusted Battlefield players, we are happy to invite you to participate in the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial. All the instructions you need to join are printed below.
We are inviting you specifically because we think you have a great interest in the Battlefield series, and because we think you understand the technical issues that might arise this early in a game's development cycle."
If you don't have an email now, you probably won't get one. You'll have to wait for the open beta in month or so time.

Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
Nice to know I am not a valued Battlefield player.
It annoys me how they make sure the POS Origin client, such a joke.
Now back to BC2.

Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
15 minutes of pure gameplay from a match.
Now after watching that, I have to say I'm feeling a little skeptical about the game. It looks killer, but ... vastly different compared to Bad Company 1-2. Admittedly I haven't played the BF games beyond those spinoffs, so I don't know if BF3 is more true to the old games, with interior portions on the map, and things like that? What I love about BC1-2 is that all the levels are just huge open outdoor environments and nearly every single building is destructible. I highly doubt a lot of the environments are destructible here in BF3 based off watching this video and I figure those huge city towers can't be leveled or anything.
So it really does look like a completely different series with dramatically different gameplay and style, which I guess... technically it is, but yeah. Still looks way more like my style than CoD and Halo though, etc.
The shooting+falling into prone thing the guy does a few times in this video looks a tad annoying and silly too.
Well, I've be curious to see what your guys' experience on this is like.
Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
I read on Rock, Paper, Shotgun that it seems that people who are level 30 and over on Bad Company 2 are the ones getting invites. So, these are the valued players.
Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
That's wrong, Niode is only level 12 in the PC version of the game.jfrost wrote:I read on Rock, Paper, Shotgun that it seems that people who are level 30 and over on Bad Company 2 are the ones getting invites. So, these are the valued players.
Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
Oh, okay, then. He is over 30 on the Xbox, no? Might be that.
Re: Battlefield 3 Alpha
Owning it on two platforms or more should earn us that "value", haha...
