I've heard an English speaking person can move to Norway, and get along just fine without ever learning Norwegian, because everyone knows English there. English is the modern Latin.D.D.D. wrote:Northern Europe does just fine.General_Norris wrote:Because shipping from the other side of the planet is kind of expensive.BoringSupreez wrote:If games in PAL countries typically cost more than they do in NTSC countries, why don't people in PAL regions import NTSC stuff to save money?

You've got to be part of the old-boy mod group to be invited to write articles. And you aren't.lisalover1 wrote:What? There was a Gamecube Racketboy article being written and I wasn't invited?

But Flake isn't a mod, and I've hardly even heard of Opethfan or Beak.BoringSupreez wrote:You've got to be part of the old-boy mod group to be invited to write articles. And you aren't.lisalover1 wrote:What? There was a Gamecube Racketboy article being written and I wasn't invited?

Well, maybe they passed you by because you liked Other M. That's an automatic disqualification when it comes to writing Nintendo articles. They want someone credible.lisalover1 wrote:But Flake isn't a mod, and I've hardly even heard of Opethfan or Beak.BoringSupreez wrote:You've got to be part of the old-boy mod group to be invited to write articles. I was wondering about that too actually.lisalover1 wrote:What? There was a Gamecube Racketboy article being written and I wasn't invited?
I consider you to be the "go to" for cube stuff around here. I thought it was odd you weren't part of that article.

Time to have nightmares about bringing hot asian soup to girls that died about 50 years ago and can find no rest. Soup must be bought next door, riddles to survive will be told, a long and frightful task awaits you. Soup must be brought to the 4th floor. you cannot touch the bowl of soup that is placed in the middle of a dinner plate, because it personifies the dead girl, and she does not like to be touched. Somehow you're having trouble not to touch her because the bowl of soup is not very stable on the plate. Soup then turns into the cookie guy from Shrek -crumbling in a hot bowl of what looks like bamboo soup if such a thing even exists- and starts crying in a very angry way sending a very bad and very frightful vibe through your body. You reach the elevator. The inside looks like a wooden shrine with candles and stuff. In the back of the elevator you see pale faces of people in a faint blue light. They have an unnatural big grin on their face. You feel very uneasy, but you have to go on. Giving up now simply is not an option. The mentally retarded 100 kilo 3 year old kid you met on the way down to get the soup -a kid that likes you but acts like he can snap any second and kill you with his sheer might- is the last thing on your mind now. You are about to enter the elevator, and then you wake up...
Fuck me, that wasn't even the half of it...

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
The 'Cube thing was kind of random. Noise and I collaborated on it with Ack's blessing awhile back but never got around to pulling the trigger. The other guys asked Racket if they could write it and Racket ended up merging their stuff with the bit Noise and I put together. So off and on, that article was written over the course of about half a year.
So nothing personal, lisalover. It just kinda happened.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
