Clone hardware compatability?

Post by jay_red »

Hey guys, I made a trade on another forum, and i sent him super mario world 2: Yoshi's Island. I sent first and he got the game today. He messaged me saying that the game doesnt work (It worked fine on my original SNES) and he says that he has an FC twin console. Is there known compatability issues with games featuring the super FX chip? Can any one test their copy on an FC Twin for me? I just dont want this to seem like I tried to pull one over on the guy (even though I sent first)

I remember hearing that the FC Twin has some issues with certain games. I've long since traded mine for a Retro Duo, but I recall mine ran Star Fox and Doom with no issues.

There are a small handful of NES/SNES games that are not compatible with the FC Twin. Some only have issues with parts in a game, like in Battletoads, and some will not play at all, like Castlevania 3, Kirby Super Star, and Super Mario RPG.

You have no idea how pissed I was when I found out the FC consoles can't play Castlevania 3.

I'd buy a toaster NES but it'd probably die a few months later. Someday I still hope to get my hands on an official top loader.

72-pin replacement connector. Mine has lasted me at least five years so far.
