The Typing of the Dead: Overkill... --->No more.

Post by Opa Opa »

So House of the Dead: Overkill is getting a PS3 port with updated visuals, Move support, and whatnot. Goody. But something caught my eye on wikipedia.
A PlayStation 3 port and a Xbox 360 port (to be called The Typing of the Dead: Overkill) is in devlopment and is scheduled for release on October 25, 2011. The PS3 port adds Move support, two exclusive levels, high definition graphics and 3D gameplay.[3] While the Xbox 360 port replaces the guns with the keyboard.
HOLY CRAP! NEW TYPING OF THE DEAD!

However, as awesome as this sounds, I have spent a few minutes surfing the web and so far haven't found find any evidence to substantiate the 360 version. I even checked some of the reference links and still couldn't find anything. :|

Anyway... I hope it's for real.

It's telling that there's no mention of it in the page they supposed took the information from.

I would love if it were real, but it is doubtful.

If anything a typing mode on PS3 sounds more likely, with the built in keyboard support and all. I guess they could use the chatpad, but it wouldn't be ideal.
Sounds fishy, but I hope it's true either way :) .

You can plug any USB keyboard into a 360 and use it fine. I honestly don't understand where this myth that the 360 doesn't support USB keyboards has come from. Probably some retarded PS3 fanboy propaganda.

though I already have Overkill on Wii and love it, I have to say that if there really is a Typing mode, I would probably rebuy this shit for PS3.

I just read this on ign's PS3 preview article:
Now, the game is known for a whole bunch of cursing from the characters, but this time around, the bad words will be bleeped. Kind of. See, subtitles will pop on the screen and have the bad words blocked out. If you're fast enough, you can shoot the censored words to unleash their true meaning. Get it in time, and the characters will curse their hearts out. Seems like a neat way to keep us on our toes during in-game movies.
LAME.

Other than the wikipedia mention, the 360 version doesn't seem to exist.

Sorry guys. The wiki article was finally edited.

Sadly, no new Typing of the Dead.
