I have seen a lot of people saying the same thing about how it is the seller's fault if he doesn't know what he has. Then when the seller does know what he has and is asking reasonable prices for it, these same people whine and complain about thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets asking high prices.

I don't see why that's hard to grasp, if a seller has something listed for cheap, why would I inform him otherwise and not take advantage of the deal? Like the other day my friend went to K-Mart to pick up Alice as they had it listed for $35, he went and it rang up at $29.99, was he supposed to tell them that their ad says $35?
You may not have understood my comment. What I meant was that in many cases I have seen people who will gloat about how stupid some seller was because they did not know what they had. In the cases where they run into a seller who does know what he has and prices accordingly, they whine about they don't want to pay eBay prices at flea markets, yard sales, and thrift stores.

I never said anything about telling the seller that he was underpricing his stuff. I have happily purchased games that were under priced based on what they go for in other places, but I have not lied to anyone in an attempt to get it even lower.

So are you saying that if you had enough cash to buy them that you would have paid the sticker price?
AgentBurnwood wrote:What does surprise me is that some other posters on here think what I did was unethical, when I consider it to be mere negotiating. So I pose a question: had you been there, would you have either 1) told the store clerk about the real value of the games ,
No. They had them priced at $15 each. That was what they apparently felt they were worth to them.
AgentBurnwood wrote:2) just pay the full amount, but only get some of the games and come back later with more cash, or
Yes. I may have even asked them if they could hold the others until I came back. Or if I was really desperate I may have hidden them behind some other stuff until I could get back.
AgentBurnwood wrote:3) bargain/negotiate/convince the price down to a real bargain price that would allow you to buy all of them, knowing you could easily resell them later?
Bargain or negotiate, maybe. Lie, no.

I guess I am just fortunate enough to view my hobby as a hobby and not some revenue generator. I think that I would lose interest if I got to the point where I felt that I needed to lie in order to further my hobby.

Salvation Army turned up a complete copy of Crash Bandicoot 2 for $3, so I took it. Plus, My Sam & Max book seeking adventures have come to a close. I managed to get the anniversary edition that I've been wanting so bad off Ebay in excellent condition for a mere $20.50. w00t. Guess I'll be selling the non-anniversary copy I bought.

Great Find! I got the same one back in May. Did you get both discs?

Yep! :D They're in great shape too. There's a small, almost invisible scuff on the back of the game disk and the bonus disk looks untouched. I'm sort of surprised it still had the bonus disk at all. It was actually still in the case on the display floor (Is that normal?). I'm surprised no one ran off with it.

I'm really looking forward to playing it as soon as I'm done with Zelda OoT. :D

I wasn't even looking for it when I found it. I went into the store looking for Indigo Prophecy. I couldn't find it (It was probably in one of those evil yellow slip-covers. Screw that) and found this instead. I'm lucky I spotted it at all. Someone had placed it in the 'New' section.

I happened upon Viewtiful Joe - PS2 for $2.00 earlier today. The disc is a little jazzed up but shouldn't be too difficult to clean up. Looking forward to finally trying this game out.

Over heard a guy who was permastoned saying he found some store selling various mario games for $5 each, one he mentioned was mario RPG. While tracking down the stores I stopped at the As-Is store and happened upon some Saturn stuff:

Virtua Fighter Remix (Promo Copy Not For Resale sleeve on it) 81027
Battle Arena Toshiden Remix (thanks for the correction, not a promo like I thought) 81029
Rayman (double stuffed in a sleeve with a demo disc) T-17701H
and two saturn demo discs: Choice Cuts and Panzer Dragoon

Paid $4. Kind of nice to see some saturn stuff once in a while.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 - $17.
Basically brand-new minus the seal - no save on cart, e-reader cards still sealed, and every page of the manual and the inserts are crisp and un-touched, (at least until I got to them..)

I'm confused - what makes you think it's a promo copy? Didn't think promo's of BAT: R existed..

I dunno, figured it was mixed in with Virtua Fighter Remix promo, figured it was a promo too. Doesn't say not for resale or rental on it so I guess it isn't. Thanks for the clarification.

No problem! Toshinden: Remix for the Saturn is actually a remake of the first game on the Playstation. It's got a story mode, extra character, and slightly crisper graphics based off of the second game's slightly improved engine. If you ever come across it, or wonder, Toshinden: URA on the Saturn is a remake of Toshinden 2 on the Playstation.

Stopped at Goodwill yesterday. This isn't the best find, but I was happy with it.

Playstation with all hook ups, no controllers: $4. There was a copy of NFS 3 in the disc tray.

Mario Kart Double Dash: $2. I opened the case to discover DD was missing, but in it's place were Super Mario Strikers AND Mario Party 5. The DD bonus disc was there.

Power Drome, black label, complete: $3.

It's not a video game but I also found a brand new GE blender for $2 because the blades are missing. Just need to order the replacement part.
