The game also has a lot of character in my opinion. Being able to kick a vending machine and get a free soda. Hearing what people are saying about you in their houses(in text). Helping the police station with city problems. Being good with the ladies. With that last one, it's awesome that you can find a few key items and give them as gifts to Roll. That's just sweet.

The first Legends should be played on the PS1 if you ask me. I heard the N64 version had better rounded graphics, but the PS1 version is the version that has everything in it. The N64 version has missing music tracks and shorter draw distance or something like that.

Overall though, no matter what version you decide to play, the game is going to look gorgeous, with excellent music I might call the series best, to go along with it.

Edit- Forgot to add, the game is just plain fun. I don't see how anybody can feel frustrated with the controls. From playing it back then as a kid, to beating it a second time just a few weeks ago, the game is straight up enjoyable.

They could also just provide a free patch to fix balance issues, and include all the characters with the game when they first release it instead of milking the consumer with overpriced DLC.

Yeah, I guess I forgot that fixing balance issues and making tons of new content cost Capcom no money or man hours.

Even providing a 'free' patch is not free. It costs companies a lot of money and time to get those patches approved by Sony and Microsoft. It's why updates are much more abundant on the PC than they are on consoles.

You could say that. You could also say that developing skins is about the simplest and fastest thing you can do to any game, yet they charge $5 to make your characters look different and another $5 EACH for additional characters. You pay $60 for 36 (less than a .50c each, plus everything else) and then you pay $10 for two more? Exorbitant. They could have easily been included but it's as ridiculous as COD map packs...

And you could also say that developers have been providing free patches for games since the launch of the PS3 and 360. Granted none has been released thus far for MVsC AFAIK, but Ultimate MVsC3 needs to have significant additions to make it worthwhile to purchase on top of MVsC3. Like with SFIV: as a standalone it's a reasonable price, but as an upgrade it doesn't seem justifiable. That's my main issue with developers nowadays, they are milking the DLC market and using borderline planned obsolescence tactics. If add-ons were priced more reasonably developers would see a lot more purchases, but it has precluded me from buying any DLC except rock band songs that I really, really wanted. I've always disliked how the SF series is always "ultra" this and "super mega alpha" that. Just put the time into making the best core experience from the beginning. Stay committed to your products and upgrade when necessary.

I know capcom's a business, they gotta make money, blah blah. As a consumer it deters me from buying their products and I can't be the only one. They're burning everyone in some way. Hardcore players who bought MVsC3 at launch are now stung by an additional $40 pricetag if they want to upgrade, but they get new media. Casual fighting game players are flooded with options and don't have a clue what's available, but they get a discount if they waited. When I looked on wikipedia the other day at all the SFII variations I was surprised to see I didn't know of half of them. And I still don't even remember which one is the "definitive" version. Personally, this upgrade path deters me from buying fighting games in general simply because I know they'll be outdated within a year.

And Sony is at least reasonable about providing patch pushes. Microsoft is nigh draconian about it which is a fair reason to not push a patch, I suppose. Still, freely distributed patches are not unheard of on either platform.

Shouldn't you all be surprised it actually made some progress being being cancelled? Not like the first 2 were popular.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

The Twitter responses about MML 3 being canceled are really something else.

The 2 games have high demand. Even the first one, which had a greatest hits release.

so in short: Capcom cancelled the game because they expected the Dev Room to pretty much make the game from scratch.

WTF, I just read that one too. Holy shit, lmao...

Also Ultimate MvC3 is hilarious but it's funny some people are flipping out about it. Isn't there like 3 versions of SFIV out anyways?

What's funnier are the people who are cool with this but think people are insane for buying new sports games/roster updates every year.
