I thought you guys were exaggerating at first but holy hell that's one ugly site. It literally, literally, hurts my eyes. (Although, that could be the glasses...time to switch to the more up-to-date contacts.)

And that is exactly why I have intentionally made my Backloggery page as hideous as I possibly could. Black background, purple highlights, and bright pink, with a hideous image of Dan Hibiki slapping his ass. My girlfriend hates what I've done with it.

Maybe, but I can also attest that it's gotten me off my ass to try many of these games I never thought I'd get to. I can now happily say that I've played through my copies of Jet Force Gemini, Daikatana, X-Men: Mutant Academy, Final Fantasy II, Power Instinct, the original PS1 Spyro trilogy, and many more...I don't know if I ever would have gotten around to these games otherwise.

Yeah, having my backlog displayed for me gives me more incentive to play new games, rather than do yet another run of LttP, Super Metroid, or Deus Ex.

yeah, i was a fan of the old layout, the new one...not so much, but hey, it does what it was designed for right? Anyways, our individual backloggery's color palette is 100% customizable. For those that may be unaware, just go to backloggery/my backloggery/options/page theme.

I also think the layout serves it's purpose; it could be WAY worse (looking at Gamespot's bloated game database/design). I must say though some of the color schemes I see from time to time ARE completely hideous and simply hard to look at without closing the tab right away. Bright pink with lime green text... perfect!
