Personally, I think it's a ruse from a fan to increase anger at Capcom.
Still, the fact that he guessed the exact date it was going to be cancelled... it's more than a little suspicious.

It seems as if I just read that the demo was released. So what were they just wanting to see how many people would send em a couple bucks. I want want the old Capcom back, no Nintendo home system has got a new Street Fighter since the SNES, what is up with that and I would like to play MvC3 too, I don't care about graphics ( HD PS3 stuff ). Capcom should not have kept the Wii from getting some big sellers like Resident Evil 5. They should have just made these game for me to buy on the Wii I don't care if they don't look as good, I want to enjoy playing, not looking at them. If Resident Evil 4 being release a third time can sell millions what would the others have done?

He could have heard that as a leak from an employee of Capcom. Not that it never existed, but I mean that the employee could have heard a cancel coming down the grape vine, and passed it on to his friend.

You guys are assuming the image is even real. I haven't seen any evidence of that so far.

Do you guys remember when Biohazard 4 came out on the Gamecube with the word "exclusive" posted right on the box, but then it came out for the PS2 shortly after? That was rather assholish of Capcom. They even added extra content in the PS2 version, further fucking over the fans who bought a Gamecube just for Biohazard 4.

This whole Rockman Dash 3 thing reminded me of that. Capcom and their little tricks to get people to buy hardware that isn't very popular. I'd love to know the exact number of people who bought a 3DS mainly for Rockman Dash. I'm sure some of those people ended up buying Street Fighter or Biohazard on the 3DS because of it.

It would have been better to hold off on getting a 3DS until next year's 3DS LL. >_>

That was quite a dick move on Capcom's part, but at least the Gamecube version was leaps and bounds graphically superior to the PS2 version:

Well this thread is huge and so I may have missed someone bringing this up, but I have to be honest...

I think what Capcom pulled earlier about the game was a bigger low blow than this. Basically threatening fans that if sales for a demo (wait a minute, PAYING for a demo?) weren't good enough, they were going to scrap the game. Ever since then, I think I personally completely lost all hope and interest in this project.

So, to be frank I'm glad I personally did not get hyped up about this at all or look into it that much. Inafune left and sounded quite frustrated with the company as a whole right now, Mega Man Universe gets canceled, Capcom threatens fans to buy a demo if they want to see this game see the light of day... I just wasn't surprised at all to see they canceled this and I'm so apathetic about Capcom nowadays it's like I'm not even mad, they're already dead to me. I'm not laughing at you guys, but rather the situation and Capcom right now. I know myself and others have lost faith in them this generation and well, they probably just lost another million fans or something. Good job Capcom.

The differences there are:

1) The GameCube version of RE4 still actually was made and released.
2) The point of releasing the game on PS2 was to sell more copies since they felt the GC market wasn't big enough. That might be a dick move, but it makes business sense. Putting hype and development money into a game when you plan on selling ZERO copies does not make business sense.
3) Capcom's dick move arguably sabotaged GC sales rather than improving them.

I don't think these cases are near enough to warrant the suggestion that Capcom has a strategy of running scams to sell Nintendo hardware. If that was their intention, then in both cases it would make more sense to NOT pull the bullshit in question.

PN03 remained a GCN exclusive. And it's awesome.

I second that motion.
I was dead set for this game, so much so that I was ready to get a 3DS.
I think we as a gaming community need to file a class action lawsuit against Capcom based on the grounds that they have become the cause of all the wrong in the world.
Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?
