I am almost done season 2 (just finished the episode where Walt is repairing his floorboards). I should be caught up by week's end. Season 2 has been ok, but season 1 was much better.

Weird. I think the series got progressively better.

Well the premise of the whole show is really compelling, and the first season essentially sets that up and is intensely riveting. But now that I am towards the end of Season 2 I have noticed that the creators keep falling back on the same methods for Walt and Jessee to get out of a jam, the relationship dynamics between characters has kind of stagnated or become predictable, and many of the episodes just inch things along without anything really happening.

Don't get me wrong, I am still enjoying it and will continue my marathoning - I am just eager to see where it goes next and hope that it improves.

Insdie the episode: Box Cutter

It sounds as though it was just to send a message and because he was scene. I had figured there was a bit more to it (Victor was in charge of Gale's safety, etc.).

However, "sending a message" to people you were about to kill anyhow doesn't really feel necessary. Walt was moments away from being killed by this man's henchmen, I think he knows that Gus means business...

wow. considering the season long tease, the last scene at the end of season 2 was quite the cop out :?

Season 2 as a whole is the weakest of the 3, IMO.

Season 3 puts the show back on track, but like Dexter, it never seems as good as the first season because the idea of the show was so new during its first season that it never has that 'new' feeling again, unlike Dexter however I dont want to punch the writers in the face now.

Season 3 had some EPIC moments though. I've never been so tense while watching a TV show. Not even sure any movies I've seen have got my heart going that much (at least not in recent years)

Oh I agree, Season 3 was amazing, but because it doesn't have the 'new factor' like the first Series did, it will never match it.

I dunno. I agree with the feeling that it builds each season.

I definitely think it's been getting better each season.

I'm sure I've talked about this a few times in this thread before, but that's one thing I'm afraid will turn people off to the show. For me, I love it. It feels more like I'm watching real life. Like this past episode is perfect for example. (I'll try not to make a spoiler here) Skyler gets up in the morning and then checks the house for Walt, then goes outside and moves his car. Any other show, that would have been 10 seconds worth of footage. In BB, the camera cuts less and just gives you more real time. Might seem long and draw out, maybe even boring to some. But to me, I like it. I feel like it really puts you IN there as oppose to just watching another TV show.

That's cool, and join the club. Waiting a week between episodes is pure torture!

Hmm, you know, I really ripped through the first two seasons so they're kinda blended in my mind. Are you referring to the little teasers they give you in the beginning of each episode, then you finally find out what happened at the end of the season (the eye in the pool and all that stuff)? I don't remember the last scene exactly, but I didn't see anything wrong with the season finale. I have to admit though, I'm kinda forgetting a lot about the first 2 seasons now. I was gonna watch through the first 3 before 4 started, but decided not to. I'll probably watch through the 4 seasons before the 5th starts. I read that the 5th might be the last season anyway.

I definitely agree with that. Especially the end of that episode with Hank. It actually got my heart going. I don't believe anything I've ever watched on TV had done that before. And it looks like we're not going to have a shortage of those types of scenes, all what with the season opener having the box cutter scene. I really didn't see that coming. That entire scene was terrifying.
