My better half forced me to go with her to see the final Harry Potter. All I can say is... is it finally over?

still not particularly excited about this Spidey reboot.
If the reviews are good when it comes out I'll go see it, but I'm not looking forward to it.

The POV stuff looks like shit, and it's in he movie. I hoped it was just filmed for the trailer, but in EW the director talks about adding several POV scenes.AppleQueso wrote:still not particularly excited about this Spidey reboot.

Ugh.
That said, Parker doesn't look as dumb as I thought he did from the stills. But the fact they are trying to "Nolanize" the film is just...Unoriginal.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Watched a little bit of the trailer. I like that they seem to be mixing up the backstory a bit. I'm still not sure how I feel about the overall tone of the movie but they had to do something to set it apart from the last 3, which are still fresh in everyones minds.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
No interest in all these super hero & CGI fest movies today... I watched "Into The Void" after reading so many "glowing" reviews about it being a movie that "changes the way you think about cinema" blah blah blah... it sucked. The movie could have trimmed out at least 1 hour worth of CGI flybys and still been too long. :\

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
They should've just made the new spidey more lighthearted. I want to see more of spidey's wit. Someone I know put it best as "Spider-Man should be the opposite of Batman". Bogging this one down with even MORE angst and whatnot than the Raimi films sounds like a really poor choice.
And I agree the first person scenes looked dumb. ...a first person Spider-Man game could be fun though...
---
Anyhow, I watched Superman II today. Pretty fun film, though after reading up on the Richard Donner cut I'm really interested in watching that version. Has anyone here seen both to compare?
Also, would I be okay watching Superman Returns without watching III and IV? It ignores both of those movies right?

Doesn't matter. Just ignore III and IV for the point of ignoring them.AppleQueso wrote: Also, would I be okay watching Superman Returns without watching III and IV? It ignores both of those movies right?
Plus, I'd ignore Returns as well.

Returns seems to be a really divisive film that everyone seems to either love or hate. Kinda figure I should give a movie like that a chance for myself.
III and IV on the other hand I've heard nothing but bad things about.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Oh sure, it is worth a watch, but I was just chiming in that I didn't like it. It's not awful, I just wouldn't watch it again. That said, it's probably better than what Tim Burton had planned doing, and nic cage as Supes is just laughable.AppleQueso wrote:Returns seems to be a really divisive film that everyone seems to either love or hate.
